I'm not sure 10 and 11 are any better but Ashwin at 9 is a luxury.

Have to try and keep them under 120 and anything more is a missed opportunity.

So we did well to get them out for 109. We need a solid start, the longer we can hold them back from taking a wicket could be invaluable.

How much of a lead can we build? a couple more batsmen getting to 50 will help.

              Pretty tough going.

A lot of deliveries are unplayable.

200 a good score on this pitch. 250 would just about win the match.

If this isn't the Board of Control trying to put a nail into test cricket I don't know what is.

You can talk about holding nerve, having a plan etc. etc., but that's just bullshit for a day one wicket. Complete and utter ****ing trash, and a clear signal that India wants to eliminate the five day game as its highest priority.
                  TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Reckon they wanted a turner, the curator has just done a terrible job and it's backfired. Awful wicket, their spinners bowled poorly and it's costing them the game at the moment.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

It is alarming that they have doled out such pitches. They desperately want to win the series 4 nil but if we can get a couple of handy partnerships it might backfire on them.

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma has spoken about rolling out a green seamer for the fourth test to prepare for the WTC Final. Reckon they'd already chalked this one up as a win and have gotten a bit ahead of themselves.

I would have assumed the BCCI would just fly their own curators in and turn the Oval pitch into an Indian dustbowl for the final.

I'm not sure their current batsmen are elite players of spin. Guys like Laxman, Dravid and even Ganguly were so difficult to dislodge in spinning conditions. Pujara looks a whisker away from being proper cooked. Sharma beautiful to watch but loose. Kohli is still elite. Jury is out on the rest TBH.

Their batting depth has hidden some sins in the last couple of years IMO.

It has covered over some cracks in this series too.

Yep, they were in trouble in the 1st test before Jadeja and Patel got together and managed to get their score from 5/160 odd to 400 (with help from Shami), and likewise in the 2nd test when Patel and Ashwin completely changed the course of a match that we were dominating until then.
