So England went with Tongue......going to be a handful.

A bit of Tongue get Head and a Root

Actually they are playing their best available spinner, who happens to also be their best batter. Hopefully we force him to bowl a decent number of overs that may sap some energy from his batting.

Wood not being ready is handy for us, he has caused some issues in the past.

Tail has gotten a bit longer - is that 4 number 11s they are fielding now?

Not sure about the Tongue selection. He looks handy, but I think they're putting a heap of credence in him trapping Smith LBW in County Cricket.

I'm yet to be convinced this will be a real green-top. I feel like we have this chat about Lord's every year and it seems to be a good batting wicket each time.

I reckon with DRS that LBW would have been not out anyway. I expect Broad to once again be their most dangerous bowler.

You win the toss, do you bat or bowl?

Apparently the wicket is already starting to dry out and not as Green as it was on Monday

Someone mentioned Woakes has a great average at Lords so they were surprised he wasn't playing.

Forecast is cloudy with some sunny spells - cloud cover could make bowling tempting?

I'd bat. The forecast for tomorrow looks worse than it does for today and bowling first would mean a re-think of our fielding tactics in terms of having to set aggressive placements to capitalise on it.

In saying that, I think England are probably desperate to bowl first and have revealed that in their team selection. They're a good chasing team and will back themselves in on days 4 and 5 on a deck that traditionally plays true the whole way.

Tough chance to Root but Khawaja gets a life. There's some swing but it's a slow deck. Have to grit out this first session, think batting will get easier this afternoon.
