Without Lyon we are going to need a lead in excess of 400.

Bat through to tea and we could be 450 ahead with 4 sessions to bowl them out.

It would also a target that they will go for enhancing the wicket taking chances.

Anything less than 400 and they only need 1 or 2 batters to get going to really challenge.

Good start then the loss of Khawaja and Smith in quick succession. England changing tactics and bowling short. Slowed the run rate and making batting difficult. Looking forward to similar tactics being deployed by Australia

5/214 a lead of 305. Carey and Green need to stay in and form at minimum a 50 plus partnership

Effectively 6 out right? Smith and Ussi gave their wicket away too easily. Important partnership now.

Only 351 ahead at the moment with 2 wickets left. This test will go down to the wire. Poor batting other than Ussi

That Starc decision is the biggest load of BS ever. That catch is awarded every day of the week. Unbelievable

Really strange to hear the thoughts of former players because it varies so much. It was a clean catch by all reasonable measures.

We are in a strong position but we need a couple of quick wickets.

The umpire aided by modern technology, if not the Empire, got it right.

Regardless we should be wrapping this test up with a win. Those 4 quick wickets were critical and have put us in pole position. Remove Duckett early and we've got all day to remove their long tail. Shouldn't be losing this one.

I would argue Starc was in control of his movement. He slid and braced on purpose.

Starc had complete control over both. The ball was caught prior to him using it as an aide to support himself. You can get as technical as you want in regards to the ‘rules’ of cricket but that was out. Full stop.
