And he's been in a pretty good paddock.

The Bairstow dismissal is pushing the Voice to Parliament, Housing and Higgins off the front pages. How good is cricket, eh ? Maybe we ought to look at the Empire more seriously.

A former work colleague of mine who I regard as the most fair minded and talented person I've ever worked with also happens to be a cricket fanatic (Indian heritage) so I reached out to get his take.
            His reponse:

"It's a clear out and there is no grey area" "The rules of cricket drives the spirit of the game not the other way around"
"Bairstow is constantly reckless with his position on the crease and Carey was smart"

            I'll go with that.

Carey threw the ball straight away, perhaps Australia could have withdrawn the appeal but I wouldn't and the English wouldn't either. Broad doesn't even walk when he smashes the ball to slips.

                  its fair call

But the pom tabloid media love sensationalism and the British are just sore losers.

It won't be hard to get into Bairstow's head. "Psst. ... how many other ways can you get out Bairstow...? " I would be whispering in his ear.
