3 down for bugger all. Pakistan are going to need something special from a couple of batters.
More likely a lot of rain…

It does get a little easier once the new ball softens a bit but they will struggle to make 200
Might not get 100 now.

I reckon it was a terrible pitch to be honest - way too much variable bounce.
Of course Australia handled it much better but it doesn't excuse how poor the pitch actually was. You cant have deliveries hitting around the same length and one ball shoots through and the other nearly decapitates the batsmen.
Pakistan just can't handle the bounce on Australian decks at all - they never have been able to. Their hands are far too loose on the drive, which you can get away with in Pakistan or the UAE where the bounce is low. Masood the captain was terrible in both innings with his hard hands on the drive - just giving the cordon catching practice.
Felt sorry for Babar Azam - he seems to cop more unplayable jaffas than anyone in test cricket.

Agree, perhaps in Perth they could leave a little more grass on the pitch given the scorching hot conditions because once those cracks appear and start opening up, bowlers lick their lips.
The issue imo with Babar is that he plays with such a straight faced bat, can be susceptible to getting knicks with the bouncier Aussie pitches and a bit of movement.
Only 59,000 people across 4 days in Perth. Maybe they should give the test to Tassie if the WA public aren't interested in attending?
Perth is a brilliant city, I really rate it and the stadium might be the 2nd best in the country for football and cricket.
If the public really only want to attended test cricket against the likes of England, India and South Africa though then CA should share the 'Perth Test' with other cities like Hobart for tests against the likes Pakistan, NZ and WI etc.
They'll get a crowd of 30K plus to watch the Scorchers so we shouldn't push test cricket on them if it's not their preference.
It doesn't matter to who you listen to as they try to explains Perth's lack of love for test cricket but the excuses offered don't withstand a lot of scrutiny. Perhaps double up on limited over cricket over there and move the test to Hobart.

Same line-up for the Australians heading into tomorrow's test. Lets hope the ground staff have kept the ground as dry as possible today and that we don't get a lot of train tomorrow.

Maybe start by not letting the covers blow off.......
Not sure we'll get a huge amount of play over the next two days, but, that might mean there's some really good guns to the head cricket played over the last three if the weather clears up and there's a chance for a result.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Well the weather has been okay this morning with a bit of sunshine thrown in for good measure, we will lose time no doubt but lets hope that we get a decent days cricket in. 2 full sessions might be a decent start given the likely weather.
