I need someone to explain this one to me...that event where they just sit on their bikes- stationery and try to get the other person to go in front...I don't get it and it spoils the whole thing for me. Race or don't race. Just get on with it!

What events do people enjoy?

I usually watch the Swimming, athletics, Canoeing, Cycling especially indoor track.

Add boxing and climbing and you?ve got my list.

Track stand is an excruciating skill too IMO, it’s great racing.

I usually watch the Swimming, athletics, Canoeing, Cycling especially indoor track.

I love the athletics (track mainly), swimming, rowing, kayaking and cycling (team pursuits rock).

It's a highly tactical position to both tire the other rider and to position themselves to draft off the lead rider. They could put some time limits on that ploy to reduce or eliminate it. A lot of the other velodrome cycling events are sensational to watch. Indoor cycling is huge in Europe along with the road cycling so I doubt they'll change the rules much.

In an incredible race her teammate Mollie O?Callaghan also broke the world record she previously held.

(Yeah, Austraila is pretty good at swimming!)

However. Not in Swimming. In athletics. On the track! The first Aussie World Record on the track in 25 years! Jess Hull breaks the world record in the 2000m after last weekend running the 5th fastest time ever in the 1500m.

Massive chance for a medal in the 1500m in Paris.

A few sports kick off very soon, prior to the opening Ceremony.

There's football, archery, handball and 7s on Wednesday.

Which of all the sports are you most interested in? It's the swimming and cycling for me.

After years of just gradual improvement, she's dropped 6sec off her 1500m PB in 12 months... if she was Chinese (or East German) the allegations of something dodgy going on would be rife

Agree.

But the 1500m is often tactial. She was in a race where the world record was set. She went all in to committ to whatever pace Kipyegon went with. When you have a lead like that, it is much easier to run faster times.

Also, she did her first ever "block" at altitude prior to that race in St Moritz. It obviously worked well for her. Also, the progression in the last year is good, but she has been progressing over many years.
