Also, she did her first ever "block" at altitude prior to that race in St Moritz. It obviously worked well for her. Also, the progression in the last year is good, but she has been progressing over many years.

p.s. in the running community there has been lots of allegations, just visit the Let's Run forums i.e. https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_r...2842898&page=3
Across 2019 to 2023 she went from running a 4.01 1500m to 3.57... this year she has thrown in a 3.50, and yeah, the race was set up to run fast given Faith's ability, but being willing to commit to chasing and then actually doing it is a different proposition.

I wish suspicions weren't raised, but when you get this type of rapid improvement from mature athletes it's hard not to think the worst.

Do we all now have permission to be patriotic and wave our pom-poms again for the next couple of weeks before hating everything about this country again straight after?

Looking forward to it seeing the opening ceremony parade of nations.

Swimming week 1 should be good and hopefully we do well there. The Athletics as well week 2.

Football (Soccer) see how the Matildas go. Basketball and how the Boomers and Opals go.

            The weightlifting is great.

Great effort by the Men's Rugby 7s to make the semi finals and be in with a real medal chance.

I didn't expect the Matildas to be in medal contention but didn't expect them to be that bad.

New Zealand rugby sevens star Michaela Blyde has long admired Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and her excitement at meeting her hero is peak Olympic spirit.

If you have a spare couple of minutes, check out this video of New Zealand Rugby 7s star Michaela Blyde, that starts with her fangirling over Jamaican sprinter Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce and ends with her meeting her idol

It's peak Olympics and one of the cutest ****ing things I've ever seen.

                            Day 3 (29-30th July)

                            Day two Review

Overnight we saw Chloe Covell storm into the street skateboard final, but the Japanese girls were far too good on the day. Was actually brutal seeing a young kid just struggle to hit their level when it mattered. Enormous pressure for kids.
Canoe Slalom saw Jess Fox fight through a nightmare semi to go into the final in 8th place and post a GOLD MEDAL run hanging on as wave after wave came at her to try kick her off the Dias. She’s the most successful canoe slalom athlete and an absolute gem. GOAT areas.

Our Womens Rugby Sevens flogged Sth Africa and Hockeyroos knocked over RSA too to rub it in. TILLIES back to winning ways albeit in absolutely ludicrous circumstances. Sharks done in by ESP

In the pool we had a quiet night. I fell asleep and might have missed something.

Mixed bag in the regatta. OARSOME foursome men looked strong, women not so much. Defending champions in both so somewhat surprising. See where they go come finals.

Pretty sure a French woman died in the rock garden on the XC Cycling track hope they are OK.
