Re: English Premier League 2024/2025 Season Thread

A shame the Merseyside derby has been called off.

    Bad weather in Liverpool:

Big game for us early tomorrow morning at Old Trafford against Forrest. We really need to win those type of games after losing to the Gunners in midweek. Forrest not easy they are having a good season and beat Liverpool at Anfield.

Good win for us in the London Derby. Move to outright 2nd, we are really starting to mature as a side.

Very disappointing from United at home losing 3-2 to Forrest. Forrest having a very good season so far.

Can't be critical of Amorim now as he has just started but these are the types of games you need to win if have ambitions to finish top 4.

I think top 4 for us is slipping away at best top 6 finish.

Brentford have had an up and down season so far.
I thought to they'd miss Toney a bit more than they have but they've somehow been able to cover his scoring. They have a few players out at the moment and it's testing their depth.

Their home form is second to none, more points and goals than anyone else. It's a real fortress.

They'll have some problems keeping Thomas Frank as I'm sure some of the bigger clubs will appreciate his approach
He's come to terms that they're a selling club and works on the assumption that preparing the team as best as he can will sort things out over the season. Some clubs can only really aspire to being mid table and Brentford seem okay with that.

Listen to the way he speaks to the players

Yeah, teams like Brentford and Brighton seem content in knowing their place in the grand scheme of things.

I think Spurs may have a crack at Frank once the inevitable sack comes for Ange(which I don't agree with). I wonder if it would be a big enough step up to get him.

He's done a decent stint at Brentford and might save himself a lot of angst by staying put but if he has ambitions, and it appears he does, then he has to roll the dice and take the chance. Brentford are never going to really challenge as they don't have the bank roll to do so and eventually they'll have a couple of seasons when they get some of the transfers wrong and potentially drop back.

The forever bi-polar NUFC get a 4-0 win against Leicester who were completely terrible all over the park. Should have been 5-0. Need to win a few to climb through the logjammed table. Next two against Ipswich and Villa super important.

Gee huge game now for us with Pool and Arsenal dropping points.

We are on opposite sides for this game.
I'm really enjoying following Brentford under Thomas Franks leadership.
Chelsea have been very impressive and they won't be taking this game lightly.

Pretty sure Brentford have won their last 3 at the Bridge 1-8 all up. We should know what to expect.

Win this one and the players and manager will have to admit we are in the title chase instead of trying to play it down.

                                Finally an enjoyable game.

How good is Isak? I think he might be better than Haaland. Big call but when he has the ball at his feet his ability to control it is freakish for a big guy.
