Re: A League
This is the problem. I'm not going to judge whether he'll be a decent coach down the track, but currently he doesn't have his full coaching licence.
What he does have is an almost totalitarian hold over the club. Because he's a Melbourne boy, a legend of the club, such a strong character and MV wouldn't want to lose him to another HAL club (read Nathan Buckley syndrome) I think he exploits that and undermines what Mem and the board do.
Having said that, I think having someone waiting in the wings - with a clear amount of passion for the game, the club, and a media presence will come in handy very, very soon.
Mem has so far shown he has no media ability, has dribbled so much crap "short, sharp passing" & "if we can get the ball in the back of the net we will start winning" aren't fooling any of the public. His look of bewilderment the entire game last week is a prime example of him being out of his league currently. Make no mistake it's Muscat who runs the show - qualifed or not.
