This is the problem. I'm not going to judge whether he'll be a decent coach down the track, but currently he doesn't have his full coaching licence.

What he does have is an almost totalitarian hold over the club. Because he's a Melbourne boy, a legend of the club, such a strong character and MV wouldn't want to lose him to another HAL club (read Nathan Buckley syndrome) I think he exploits that and undermines what Mem and the board do.

Having said that, I think having someone waiting in the wings - with a clear amount of passion for the game, the club, and a media presence will come in handy very, very soon.

Mem has so far shown he has no media ability, has dribbled so much crap "short, sharp passing" & "if we can get the ball in the back of the net we will start winning" aren't fooling any of the public. His look of bewilderment the entire game last week is a prime example of him being out of his league currently. Make no mistake it's Muscat who runs the show - qualifed or not.

Just be prepared to pay. They're a lot more expensive than AFL jumpers (not as bad as Storm jumpers though)

Unless you get a signed jersey as a gift from a player (or three).

But yeah, they are a bit pricey. I've never been to the store in AAMI so have no idea (I'm sure they would, come to think of it), but the Victory store is just down the road on Swan St (near the Church St intersection).

Yeah I know. I got a Barca and a Man C jersey(both customised with my sons name and favourite number) from the clubs for $80 each including delivery for Christmas for my son, a Heart ones going to cost me around $100.

PS go the Heart, what a great game.

Listening up here in Sydney, just sounded like another typical Victory lack of any form of system farce! There chasing the game and couldn't get out of their half.
Buck stops with the manager and the poor recruiting!!

Merrick was sacked after 2 premierships by the board. The board sold their soul for Kewell then had no money to get a decent coach. The buck stops with them. The coach will probably get the sack but that will only hasten muscat into the position and I doubt he is better.

As for the game, Hernandez is the main on ground issue at victory. Lazy, slow, no second effort and selfish. Misses a crucial penalty then scores when it's all over. Fred is everything he isn't.

Btw Im a neutral, I loved the game.

They have a combined midfield age of about 500.
The coach is responsible for a system, unfortunately they don't have one.
I'd clean out the coaching dept and start again.
Kewell, although commercially a good signing for the comp is past his best by a fair way.

Mehmet was hired months before Kewell was even thought about as a signing.
Mehmet bought in numerous players that are either not good enough or play in the same position as Archie which makes them useless.

Hernandez is an attacking midfielder, is almost the complete opposite of everything you said. His job is not to be our central midfielder (apparently that's Broxham who I haven't noticed for the last 9 games despite him playing all of them.) The gap between defence and attack is a disgrace and it means constantly hoofing it to no one. Fabio is both our LB and LW > 70% of attacks down the left involve him in a LW position. Kewell is essentially playing as a RW with the often tried and often failed "I'll get him to cut in approach". Franjic is shit and is getting games ahead of Vargas who is at least A-league quality.

I could go on about formation changes every game and starting 11 changes and lack of making the subs bench whilst Danny "I was finished 4 years ago" Allsopp is selected but I will stop for now.

That's just plain wrong. The Age reported rumours of Harry signing with victory of the 5th of June. Mehmet was given the permanent coaching position on the 21st of June.
Even if it was right my point remains the same. The board have stuffed it up even if the coach is crap. I don't trust them to make it right.

                              Numerous? Covic and Fabio.
Cernak was signed last year. Rojas, Jeggo, Solarzano and Velaphi all signed before Mehmet.

Looks like the board made more recruiting decisions than Mehmet. Mehmet was just stupid in signing as coach as its not his squad.

It was the best A-League game I've watched. I'm definitely developing a soft spot for Melbourne Heart -- not sure why -- but I wanetd them to win, and like watching them play. That's even before their run of good form.

                                Fred was outstanding last night.
