    Re: A League

Agree ^^ No game style, lack of work off the ball.
They've come from the most stable A- League club to a complete disorganized rabble!
Everything they've done under Del Pietro has been hard to fathom, with 180 applicants they pick the youth team coach( when they stated they were after a big name coach!)They treated the most successful A-League coach like rubbish.Interesting to see how Jim Magilton goes.
I enquired about the 5 Game Etihad membership after not receiving any information after the second enquiry I just gave up!

Suddenly Sorozano (sp?) and Kemp were no where to be seen. 2 weeks later they'd bob up on the bench and then disappear again the next week. 3 weeks later you'd hear they were injured. Complete and utter BS. The insistence on going back to Etihad this year left a very sour taste too and was unnecessary.
Yep and I feel Heart are doing the opposite. Great communication with fans though social networks and JvS is pretty frank in interviews. I tweeted Scott Munn the Heart CEO about free ticket offer for members and his replies were virtually instant. The Heart consistently give members deals to bring along mates. I know it's easy to bag us saying we give away tickets etc but at least they are trying to promote the club and thinking long term.

On Wednesday they even had Fred outside Richmond station talking to fans and taking photos pre-game. Players are great after games going up to crowd, photos with kids etc. They just released a 3rd strip designed by fans.

I find something like setting the number 12 aside for the fans a wee bit tacky but it's great to get a sense that a club actually values you as a member.

ATM Heart remind me of someone who start off with nothing and have to earn everything while Victory are like a little rich kid who have inherited their fortune.

As much as I dislike Victory/our rivalry thing, there's no doubting they have the best support in the league by a mile. The club has contempt for them atm. Sure I want Victory fans to switch to the Heart but I'm not a cut nose to spite face kinda guy and big picture is getting more fans to A-League games. I hope fans are not simply lost to the game.

I didn't see the game but in the ones I have the midfield tire after 25 min and possession drys up. It's inevitable the the opposition will score through weight of the play.

Where did Milligan play, along side Leijer or in front of the defence? Thankfully broxham didn't play.

Yeah, did well. It'll be good to have a defender in the side that can pass the ball well out of defence. Always liked him when he was at Shitme.

Interesting to see what Magilton does the next few matches with Foshini, Cernak and Ferrera on Oylroos duty. Hope he doesn't go the tried and failed recipe of old stagers to replace them.

                Re: A League

Victory haven't won a second half all season, the most amazing thing is they are only a game out of the 6 with a game in hand.

                    Re: A League

Was fortunate to work at Saturday night's Melbourne Derby. Got a chance to quickly catch up with Rocco Jones as well as experience the noise from the blue and white brigade close up. Absolutely deafening at times.

Not the greatest game of all time but still enjoyed it as a neutral. Victory created nowhere near enough chances in the 1st half. Improved later on, both teams unlucky to end up with clean sheets at the final whistle.

A lot of bad blood between fans and cops in past years. This season seems to have been a lot better.
Victory now have an accord of sorts between themselves, Security and Police. They have their own marshalls who keep an eye on the 'active supporters'. If they can't handle a situation they go to security, and if security can't handle it the Police step in. Other than that, we pretty much leave the Active supporters alone. Heart's active supporters are a work in progress.

Beyond that the big issue is keeping the groups of active supporters separated. The last derby got ugly in Gosch's Paddock, but we were fine the other night bar one minor incident near Richmond station.

They seemed to have more problems at Etihad .
Semblance of the nanny State, over regulated, big brother country we live in.
Ticketing and gaining entry is the issue for me at AAMI.

You think so? At the 2nd last derby, there were at least a couple of instances where victory fans threw full plastic bottles or other things at heart players.

Clint Bolton had to throw a couple of Gatorade bottles back to the fence after Victory had a goal disallowed

Could also be due to the fact that their crowds have been rubbish, their results have been rubbish, their balance sheet has been rubbish and their owner is full of rubbish.
