So sad re WU. There's just not enough interest out this side strangely. Most people already have an affiliation either with Victory or a local team from the old NSL days.

So many I told you so people from the East on my messages today as I have been a defender of the decision. They were affronted that team 11 or whatever they were got over looked.

Sad truth is the A League is in a right state even though the product is better than ever.

Did they overstretch themselves in regard to wanting to build a big, new, shiny stadium? I know South Melbourne Hellas also put a bid in at the time, but lost out. I wonder if they will now push to get the license?

The model they had was sustainable, they just didn't think about how to get through the initial stages prior to the cash rolling in. It was to do with property, I just can't recall the exact details.

The A League doesn't want any clubs linked with traditional groups like Hellas so that's why the older NSL clubs that have those traditional links won't get in.
