Great pick up for Everton. Played well there last year before injury struck. He will get regular game time which is something he would potentially not get at Chelsea. He is only 21 so I would think this is a good move as he continues his development. He will probably find himself at a bigger club within 2 to 3 years.

On another note I see that Luke Wilkshire has signed for Feyenoord. As a Feyenoord fan I am not impressed - Janmaat leaves and is replaced by Wilkshire - ho hum.

Yea fair enough, can't have that but it does put pressure on Costa staying fit.

Big loss for Chels IMO is Lukaku.

Will be a bloody good player in 2 years time, at which point we will buy him

I guess it depends on if Costa gets a serious injury or not, or if the Cavani rumours are true.

Looks like Lampard has requested & will be loaned out to Man City prior to the MLS season starting. Kills any chance of him playing for Melbourne City unfortunately.

So what were the 2 CB's that Rodgers bought last season for ~25m?

Another signing for QPR - Jordon Mutch 22 year old signed from Cardiff. Very pleased with this signing. A lot of upside to this lad as he is an attacking midfielder just what is required.

Looks like QPR may also pick up (on loan) Mauricio Isla from Juventus - Chilean international.

Some excellent signings thus far. Hopefully there is a striker or two that 'arry is looking at.

Arsenal target William Carvalho as doubts emerge over £50m move for Real Madrid's Sami Khedira

William Carvalho, the Sporting Lisbon midfielder, could be Arsenal's next big signing because of increasing concerns at the Emirates over the wage demands and injury history of Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.Despite already spending £60 million this summer, Arsenal are still searching for a dominant holding midfielder.
Khedira, the Germany international, has been carefully considered by Arsenal whose manager, Arsène Wenger, last week refused to rule out the possibility of signing him.

Arsenal would have to commit to a deal worth more than £50 million, with transfer fee and wages, to land Khedira. Real Madrid are demanding around £24 million and the 27-year-old would want a four-year contract worth £150,000-a-week.
The figures involved are made more intimidating when Khedira’s injury record is taken into consideration. He missed five months of last season after suffering a cruciate-ligament rupture and was forced to sit out the World Cup final because of a calf injury sustained in the pre-match warm-up. During four years at Real, Khedira has missed a total of 68 games through injury.

Khedira is sounding like more trouble than he is worth. The wage demands are one thing but the last thing we need is another injury prone star. We have enough injury concerns as it is.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Problem with Carvalho is he isn't worth his buyout(37m) and Sporting aren't going to sell him for less. United and Chelsea have already inquired and given up.

Khedira will probably sit for a season then walk on a free where ever he wants and get a nice fat signing on bonus.

Good point. I keep forgetting that he hasn't moved on. Hopefully he will commit to QPR.

Isla's loan move has been confirmed. From what was looking like a very average PL squad it is now turning into a half decent squad that could push mid-table. I am starting to get excited about the upcoming season.

It's only a couple of weeks since Monreal was going to Atletico with Santi Carzolla.
