No point in being spiteful. Maintain a good relationship with other clubs and player managers rather than piss them off as well. We're bigger than the that. Get him out and move on.

Agree. Makes a better statement as well.

Seems we wanted to work with Sydney.

Better to be a good corporate citizen as we'll be dealing with every club and player agent again in 12 months' time.

Plus we load up on an extra pick next year when we'll more than likely have more spots available on the list and will need the extra (better) picks.

So the final wash-up for us:

IN: Suckling, pick 20, pick 21, 2016 4th pick (Carlton), 2016 4th pick (Swans)
OUT: Talia, pick 11, pick 69, 2016 3rd pick

The playing personnel is stronger and our draft position this year and next year is also stronger - good result IMO. We have ruck depth (stodgy as it might be) but we are lacking key defensive cover on the list - hopefully we can address both areas at the draft table this year.

The reality is that we did our best work during the season re-contracting all our young guns.

Darcy McPherson? How does he fit into all of this? Is he likely to be bid on or will he fall to our rookie selections? As it stands we'll have to use at least pick 30 on him. 51 if Grant goes which is likely.
