Confirmed Trades, FS, FA, delistings etc for all AFL Clubs 2015
Re: Confirmed Trades, FS, FA, delistings etc for all AFL Clubs 2015
Why so late in the game? What with Minson then?

Perhaps Port have realised that Lobbe is an expensive player that might not command a regular spot.
One of the reasons a lot of scribes thought was around if Ryder gets suspended with the Essendon supplements programme.
They might be prepared to risk it now.
I still wish we would at least engage GWS about Tomlinson

That would be the 2nd ND in a row that we are out of the first round - we started at pick 26 last year and potentially pick 30 this year. Not against pursuing Lobbe for pick 11 but I wouldn't want to make it a 3rd year in a row next year - you always need to make sure there is quality youth coming through at the pointy end of the draft.

This would effectively mean we've not had a 1st round pick last year or this year... I'm not keen on that.
Could keep this years first round pick and give them next years pick.
Then during trade week next season try and package up either player/ picks or either for a first rounder.
It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.

While I agree with that, we got two first round picks from the 2013 draft in Boyd and Bonts and 3 first round picks in 2012 with Stringer, Macrae and Hrovat. Better to protect next year picks.
It's not ideal to trade away a first round pick, far from it in fact, but we have some gaps we probably can't address this year. My strong preference would be a defender but a ruckman like Lobbe might solve more than one problem.
Probably long odds to happen I would think unless Port are keen.

Talia not looking like getting much at all... Essendon: Talia, 30 & 69 for picks 24, 57 ? (Last pick 75 redraft Grant or Macpherson)

Rosa confirmed to GCS for pick 31.
That's a good trade all round.

Confirmed:
Menzel to Crows, for pick 28 and Kerridge
Another fair trade. But Carlton taking him so high has a fair whack of depreciation in that investment. Crows forward line just added another good string.

From Real Footy (The Age)
Meanwhile, in the continuing saga of Matthew Lobbe - Richmond are denying ever offering pick 12 for the ruckman, according to reports.
At the same time, Western Bulldogs continue to chase him hard. But there are other reports around saying he's already knocked back their offer. Stay tuned to this one folks...
