We offered Wilkie a huge contract. We offered Silvagni a reasonable contract. We have no doubt contacted others in the background, including Butts.

I'm a bit confused by this narrative that Butts is the answer. He has played about 50% of games over the past two seasons (behind Mark Keane, who hasn't missed one despite being not very good). Why are we so convinced he's good? I feel like a lot of fans have just convinced themselves, because there's been a rumour for months that we're interested, that Butts is an a grade KPD. If we've asked the question and the Crows have either said no or "we will need your first rounder for him, straight swap", then I'm okay with our choice.

I reckon we hid him the best we could to be honest. Reality is he hasn't been in any serious football program his whole life. Physical attributes and genes are there and from what I have seen moves very well for a 200cm player.

It feels like there's something in Marra's contract around the amount of compensation he's owed taking a sharp decline if he requests a trade (not that I think we should pay him a cent next year).

Slight risk but because you can trade picks on the night and request extra time we will have some contingencies in place to address that
Last year we struck two deals with Brisbane to help bring in Davidson and L.Kennedy.

If i'm a recruiter from another club i'm absolutely taking a punt on Darcy, well he is a Darcy and the current AFL one goes ok, we have to remember Sam didn't actually really rise up until his draft year then went bang, Will on the other hand hasn't played anywhere near as much footy as Sam so is obviously very raw but given the experts say this draft is quite shallow and very compromised Darcy would absolutely be one to take as a speculative pick, the upside could be huge.

Woofers-what do you reckon is earliest Will is likely to be bid on through to most likely bid range and by which clubs?
