I think based on the conjecture for our Pick 40/Coffield & Sweet we can take Croft at 10 without deficit. If he was to go at 12, we’d have 101 spare draft points. So merely Croft going 12-13 or later frees up points. We could live trade also. But because he has to get passed 40 and discount on him, he’s not an expensive acquisition. If we could get 41 from Port and not 49 even giving them back 72 to get those extra points that’s help too. I wouldn’t worry too much here, first thing is he needs to slide enough.
BT - you deserve a bulldog based OAM for your contributions to help fellow Woofers understand draft points

If BT has Kennedy-esque presidential hair and played polo in his youth, and if he also came from the VAFA footy factory, he would have been an ideal candidate for the AFEL CEO gig.

How dare you call me an incompetent flog only concerned with my ‘fame’ and self enrichment!

                That's quite a price.

Schulz is OK but I wouldn't have thought he's worth that.

Freo certainly drive hard bargains when a club expresses an interest in their players and they are losing a few.

I think he's better than ok... If he doesn't immediately become Collingwood's best medium/ small forward, he's certainly in the discussion.

For all the talk of Gryan Miers this year, Lachie Schultz had an equally impressive year (Ronaldo like?). I was keen on him for the dogs but when he re-signed earlier in the year I thought that wasn't going to happen.

It's great business from Collingwood to improve a premiership team.

                                A summary from SEN

                                SHANE MCADAM
Melbourne has offered a future second-rounder but Adelaide is sticking to its request for a player to be part of the trade.

                                JACK GUNSTON
This has been bubbling since Grand Final week but only last Friday did it become public that Jack Gunston wants to get back to Hawthorn.

The Hawks are prioritising Mabior Chol and Massimo D’Ambrosio, but the sense is they will end up getting this done, though Brandon Ryan won’t be part of it.

                                PADDY DOW
It’s a bit of a surprise this has stretched into the second week, but Stephen Silvagni and Nick Austin have a bit on their plates.

It is highly likely to get wrapped up in among other deals relating to the Western Bulldogs and Essendon.

St Kilda believes Pick 56 is too much for Dow, who they have offered a three-year deal. Carlton says a future fourth-rounder is not enough. So both clubs need other teams to get involved.

                                BRANDON ZERK-THATCHER
Essendon has a three-year deal for Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and would still like him to stay.

But if not, the Bombers want a straight swap for Xavier Duursma. It may end up just being that, but it would be late.

                                XAVIER DUURSMA
Port, on the other hand, wants more for Duursma than just Zerk-Thatcher.

Duursma is contracted so Port can hold him to his deal

                                MASSIMO D’AMBROSIO
Essendon has a one-year rookie deal on the table and the Hawks have offered two years on the senior list.

This will get done probably for one of Hawthorn’s late picks… 44, 54 or 63. It’s just Essendon and Hawthorn have other priorities right now.

                                ESAVA RATUGOLEA
This is a bitter debate right now… with no immediate end in sight.

Geelong said no to Pick 24, which Port got from Freo specifically for this purpose. This is now Pick 25 and drifting.

Ollie Lord will also be staying at Port even if the Cats had a crack at him too.

                                JACOB KOSCHITZKE
Despite what the Hawks said on radio last week, Hawthorn wants pick 29. Richmond is saying no way, they have picks 50 & 68.

                                MABIOR CHOL
The Hawks would then use that Pick 29 from Richmond to get Mabior Chol from Gold Coast.

It’s fair to say the Suns and Tigers are aligned, but Hawthorn is the odd one out for this potential three club trade.

The Hawks want too much for Koschitzke and Chol and that’s holding up the Suns and Tigers.

                                NICK COFFIELD
This should be done as early as today (Monday) and is every chance to be involved in other deals too.

St Kilda would love the Dogs' Pick 40, which was tied to Brisbane after a trade last year, but the Dogs need other picks to get involved too.

Still, this will get done after the Saints offered Nick Coffield just a one-year deal.

                                IVAN SOLDO
The only way this even gets off the ground is if he requests a trade. Which he hasn’t done yet. Port Adelaide remains hopeful.
