Melbourne has offered its pick 46 for Brisbane big man Tom Fullarton. Should get done today on a two-year deal given the Dees have now farewelled Brodie Grundy.

You have to wonder why Geelong aren't accepting Ports pick 24 for Esava Ratugolea?
There is speculation they might be trying to lure Ollie Lord to the Cattery

Pick 24 is beyond a fair pick for him. They always play hard ball, so who knows what they are up to. Most of the time they are never the losers in trades.

This is great work by the Cats. Ollie is a lifetime cats supporter through his Brownlow medallist grandfather Alastair. He'd always be on their radar and I'd have thought would love to play for them. The Cats are in the box seat so can play harder and I think Port will fold a little.

I'm not so sure - Lord is contracted and Esava isn't.
I think Port have been more than generous with 24 and if Geelong won't take that, I'd be walking Esava into the draft. Is Lord that good anyway? If I were a Cats fan, I think I'd be more happy with 24 than a really raw key position prospect who you might convince to come next year anyway.

For the Cats, I'd take a 21 year old key position player who has just kicked four in a final over a pick 24 (which will probably end up late 20s). For Port, if he's out of contract next year, do it now when you could get something decent for him.
But of course we all know everyone plays ducks and drakes, and the deal will probably be put through the fax in the last 5 minutes of trade period.

Sarah Olle and Josh Gabelich on AFL Trade radio talked we are close with Sweet deal. Apparently Pick 47 should get it done. Port also got Pick 40 and maybe that is where the negotiation is at.
It always seems impossible until it's done. Nelson Mandela
Well, North just got pick 3 for Ben Freaking McKay so I kind of understand where Geelong are coming from.
I laugh every time I see that. Essendon are seriously screwed if they thought McKay is worth a pick 3. There is ineptness but this is another level of ineptness.
Hold on my bad as it is some kind of priority pick right. What did Essendon actually give up to get McKay?

Not only that, they've bumped their own 1st round pick back 1 by offering a big contract. I hope whoever essendon take with their pick is a dud and whoever goes 1 before is a star.
