    Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023

Todd Goldstein has told @NMFCOfficial he wants to play elsewhere in 2024. At this stage he’s undecided where that is.

Was reported on here. Potentially as a backman where he played juniors.

He'd be silly to choose us for 2024.

Would we have been a better team this year with Goldstein #1 ruck, English forward/ruck and no Lobb? Probably.

He is better off to retire and stay a one club player. He will be 36 next year

            Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023

At this point I don't think it's worth trying to get pick 4/5 from the Suns. We literally cannot compete with what North can offer since they're not moving past the bottom 5 next season and they're getting a mid 1st round pick as a priority pick & pick 3 as compo for McKay which will push what we can offer even further back.

              Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023

Finding ourselves with pick 4 always seemed a little too good to be true, and here we are, the AFL sticking it to us by handing Norf pick 11 seemingly without any stipulations on it needing to be used by them in its relative position.

Two top four picks by virtue of being shit is essentially one of the reasons why the concession/ priority picks system was problematic in the first place.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I don’t want to get into the trite conversations. But I’d like to think Peter Gordon still here would be calling this out if only to let the members and fans know he’s all over it and is up for the fight. If we were/are close and have lost ground here, I’d love someone from our club to call it out. I’m for helping clubs, but not at the direct expense of another. Make them use Pick 11 at the draft if more kids is actually what they need. Or do they just want less more highly rated ones? From memory, even the mini draft picks were forced to be traded. So stipulating the use of high end picks isn’t uncommon let alone more recent examples. I don’t get why the AFEL would do this and if they do, and if North go hunting the pick 4, I hope we at least use our club microphone to call it out. Even the AFEL delaying handing over the pick until just before the ND might be enough time for us and any other club to have a fair auction for it. I don’t mind losing the auction if say Melbourne outbid us. But to loose an auction in contrived circumstances with dark money is just the bullshit I was hoping was going to be lesser of a feature under the new AFEL. But I guess we wait and see. Maybe they make them use the pick 11 and it’s moot. Maybe KWW, Bains & Grant are on the phone today saying the exact same thing, make North use the pick. I would love to know if that’s the case though.

Hard to make $700k once you stop playing footy.

                  I'd be going again.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Yeah I'd be squeezing the lemon as fiercely as I credibly could......or for as long as someone was silly enough to keep paying me to.

If the body's feeling OK and you're humble enough to know it could all end pretty quickly, then I don't see why not.

It's getting to the point where if we can't trade up in the draft, we're better of passing on Croft and using our 2 first rounders instead. Although with all the draft tampering going on that Dunkley trade is looking worse by the day. It'll end up being a 2nd rounder.

                              Pony up right?

We got rolled by a laughing Pickers with his Lions mates.
21 and probably 21 for our best and fairest who may help take them all the way.

We ponied down. (hard when he's out of contract though).

Which is why we need to be absolutely certain Bailey Smith will sign an extension. We cannot have him requesting a trade uncontracted. Watch him request Collingwood or some other top 4 team.

Itd have been nice of Dunks to stick to his original request and go to essendon.
