Speaking of sued, have Stephen Dank's lawyers actually filed any suits yet?

Better yet, does Stephen Dank actually have lawyers? They never seem to pop up from anywhere.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Dermot Brereton was talking (and making some sense) about Essendon and rotating players/playing young players etc on SEN the other night.

He used the example of Freo in their first 8 games having 19 or 20 players who'd played every game, and how in recent weeks when that number dropped to 15, that although they've still won 3 out of 4 - they've immediately been less impressive than they had been previously. Basically making the link that a stable team - should be a successful team.

However, Essendon has been one of the most stable '22's' in the competition this season and are 4-8. So that should suggest that the current mix Hird is working with, is probably not the best mix for them to get results.

Last week on SEN it was pointed out (I haven't checked these stats so if it's wrong, call SEN, not BAS) that since 2010 Essendon's goal kicking leaderboard reads thus:
            1. Stewart Crameri
            2. Paddy Ryder
            3. Michael Hurley

            Probably explains a lot.

Only just saw this piece of gold from Titus O'Rielly:

"Unfortunately, we don't know what drug Sam Mitchell was pretending to inject".

Funniest thing I've read all year.

Watson about to play his 200th game but says he is not enjoying football and thinking of giving it all up.

There will be alot of players at Essendon feeling the same way. I just hope Crameri is right.

Will he give up his Brownlow as well? He can thank his football club for his state of mind. If they had keep their house in order with all the documentation then this would have been done and dusted 2 years ago. One way or another.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

Thought it would be interesting to revisit this article on Jobe Watson from 2012 by Stevo. Of course this was in the middle of his brownlow winning year and also in the middle of the supplement regime. The question that no scribe wants to ask now seems to be blindingly obvious - what artificial benefit did the supplement regime give to Watson? His best years were 2012-2013 and he has dropped off significantly since then. The playing group itself would run out games more powerfully than their opponents in 2012-2013 and now can't run out of sight in a dark night late in games this season.

I'm sick of hearing how the off-field elements of the supplements saga has affected the players. Quite clearly the end of the supplement-taking has affected the playing group far more.

When did Dank actually work at Essendon? Did he start in Hird's first year as coach (2011) or did he start in 2012?

Watson gets 8 touches, Goddard 7 touches.

Caleb gets 14 and a goal on debut in just a half. I like reading about Essendon this year.

End of 2011 season, after Essendon were pushed aside like skinny ragdolls in the elimination final against Carlton that year.

Or ask questions of a man whose career was hampered by injury, who befriended Shane Charter. It's not just his coaching legacy at stake.

P.S. Please forgive my reference to a "legacy". It's a sick joke, I know, and the reason I couldn't put the man's name in the sentence.
