"He's an embarrassment to Essendon and the AFL."
Needs to be shown the door. Put himself above the game and above the Club to pursue his own agenda no matter what. Maybe it was Jimmy who slunk around after midnight one night to unscrew the "Whatever it Takes" sign. Maybe he's put it up on his lounge room wall.

So many of the best players reveal themselves to be the worst of people; James Hird, Wayne Carey, Leigh Matthews, Gary Ablett Snr, Ben Cousins, etc etc.

      Sad.

Sign of the Times: For years I have been used to seeing certain club's memorabilia (including our own) being sold off cheap in various two dollar type stores. Last week I noticed a shelf full of Essendon stuff for sale in our local store. Perhaps many facets of their performance, including on field, have been effected by the drugs scandal.

It's the type of personality — bloody single-minded stubbornness and narcissism — that often produces champion sportspeople.

Wow. I never would have thought this possible…

… someone willing to pay $2 for Essendon stuff

I'm fully expecting Hird to issue a writ against yesterday's result. It has to be someone else's fault, or an AFL conspiracy, surely!

Can you issue a writ against yourself? He is the most culpable for the state his club is in,

Bloody hell. At this rate he will have his lawyers trawling through this and other internet forums looking for defamation actions...

So.... To be clear. I think Hird is wonderful, and despite being in control of the club it's not he's fault. Nothing is his fault. And despite brining in an injection system he has no responsibility for it. The AFL was wrong. ASADA and WADA are wrong. The Supreme and Federal Courts are wrong. The insurance company is wrong. Everyone else is wrong. The proof of his coaching at a great level is evidenced this year.

                  That's why I #standbyhird.

On a completely unrelated topic, I feel so dirty that scrubbing myself with bars of solvol isn't helping.

terrific bloke, James. Everybody called James is when you think about it. The baby Jesus had a brother called James.

Jesus' real name was actually James. When the bible was translated to Greek then Latin it was mistranslated #biblefact #standbyhird #JamesisGod

Has anyone else read The Straight Dope by Chip Le Grand? I'm reading it but it's a bit long. In understand about context but I'm not interested in what Aurora Andruska's handwriting is like.

Isn't Le Grand a big time kool aid drinker?
