I hate that that the CJS has been hijacked in this case. My real opinion is that this borders on racism. If these boys weren't Australian there wouldn't be a problem,. That's racism pure and simple.

Now how fair are WADA being?
It was US Postal who brought the love to Lance. They had a long and sordid history of macarbe practices rivalling Dr. Mengele.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

      Oh, do tell.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Caroline Wilson will feel pretty vindicated. As much as I dislike her intently, and as shrill as she has become, it's ended up thus.

Is DZ really just a needle pussy - which has been the whole reason given for his non participation - or just a regular pussy who couldn't be honest about why he didn't participate?
          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

You are right. My original post questioned why more players didn't follow his lead, but I edited it when I went back over some articles. I'm not 100% sure. If he was any kind of hero he should have blown a whistle on the whole lot. At best he was an absentee. At worst, a needle wimp.

There's no excuse for covering up this sort of program. I think the players, including Crameri I am afraid, are getting what they deserve, at least it looks like that. Can't imagine letting something like that go on without keeping a club doctor in the loop. Maybe they are lucky to get just the year. Saad got 18 months for an energy drink.

Regardless of his motivations, at least he didn't just blindly follow the herd. A bit more of that attitude wouldn't have gone astray at the time.

I think from memory he did his fair bit of #standbyhird. Essendon players are probably genuinely afraid of their own fans, many of whom are psychos. Who would dare turn against the cult leader?

No worries, understand what you're saying.

I really find it difficult to understand how DZ could flag non-participation due to being "scared of needles" as a reason for not being part of a club wide injecting program. If these injecting sessions were club sanctioned, and one player didn't want to do it due to fear of needles, how could such a program escape the attention of the medical and mental health professionals working at the club?

How could you take a player into an important final if he wasn't prepared to have an injection to mask pain when it was required?

No mention of player welfare people. That's a fair angle. Where the hell were they?

Apparently not required, because he just had a fear of needles that didn't require any further investigation or oversight........

Embarrassing to be in the same comp as these people. Seriously.

Quick comment from me - right result, horrible process, feel for the players and think that they have been punished for the misdeeds of others, but there is a need to take responsibility. My wish from all of this is that the AFL man up. Admit that there were failings with the way it handled the initial investigation and its decision to resolve this in haste; admit also that what Essendon did has been proven to be wrong. Move forward embracing the finding as an opportunity....fat chance of that happening though

I found it hilarious they spent three years saying they did nothing wrong, then go into worksafe and plead guilty.
The thing they pleaded guilty to (not providing a safe work place) is admitting they did it !
From that moment on I knew WADA had them.

Did anyone watch the footy programs last night?

360 was a train wreck with Robbo looking more inept than ever. Gill Mclachlan came out of it looking ultra professional but it looked like he was being interviewed by a homeless guy. Cringeworthy.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

Essendon are victims of their own arrogance. After 60 years of disliking them I finally get a payout. Patience is a virtue, something the hierarchy at Windy Hill seems to have forgotten in its rush to re-occupy what it considers to be its rightful position at the top of the tree - whatever it takes.

As for James Hird one can only speculate re the nature of the parallel universe he occupies. Is he unhinged? Only last month he was banging on about redemption "when all the facts are known" and now it's "a miscarriage of justice". Well, sorry to say James the players failed to report the injections on their doping control forms - they were party to a conspiracy. And who led them down that path? The club hierarchy of which you, James, were an integral part.

So now we have a competition in turmoil with five clubs guaranteed a bonus four points plus percentage. If the AFL wants to ensure the integrity of season 2016 it should suspend Essendon from the competition for a year. By doing that it might win back some of the credibility it has lost these past three years.
