Don't remind me of the umpiring and commentary. It's probably not going to win or lose the game, but it doesn't help when there's two separate rules and the commentators seem to be advocating for it.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Exactly! I pointed this out at the time and 'strangle' was the verb I used.

Last night showed to me why Port haven’t been able to beat a top 4 team this year…. We had a poorly structured team and sucked for so much of that game and they fell over the line. I chat see them causing any issues to Geelong and Melbourne.

Get a home crowd and it might be a different story.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Thanks Granty, I actually discovered that in the other thread where you showed how to find ruck contests.

I asked the same question during the game : "is it within the rules to have your forearm around Cordy's neck just because its on the goal line?"

Why doesn't the club show the AFL the video-the one the review umpires looked at back and forth a dozen times- and razor can get a "please explain" as well. We need to to call this out rather than go quietly. Clarkson and Scott aren't shy about it and Eddie would be all over the media with it.

The one that gets me is - when is trying to kick the ball whilst being tackled but missing the footy a free kick, and when is it not?

My whole footballing life I've considered that incorrect disposal and a free kick, but I then saw a Wayne Campbell article written from the perspective of an ex-umpire's boss that said it wasn't without saying why - which was really odd, and now it's all over the shop.

Anyway, it shits me they pinged Wood for his but we missed out on three before that. Now I know much of that is the footy gods kicking someone when they're down, which Easton certainly is, but the inconsistency with this rule shits me no end.

I heard Razor trying to explain this some months ago and I was flabbergasted they have changed the interpretation, but then Easton gets pinged.

                      100%

Then there's the phenomenon whereby if you drop the ball in the tackle that's cool, but if you drop the ball with one hand clenched then that's a failed handball attempt.

Sometimes. Most likely if you're a defender and up against one of the types of forwards who are "big men" and likely to make James Brayshaw cream himself.

When was the drop kick banned?

Have to say I am thoroughly disappointed. I always thought woof was a place where we cared for each other. I never mentioned any specific posts or posters. In return I am personally attacked by 2 posters. I wish I had just kept my thoughts to myself, I only commented because I like this place and I want it to maintain its extremely high standards and not become Facebook or big footy like.

Maybe I’m not cut out for this place. Apologies if I created any angst, it was definitely not my intention.

Hey AM, I wouldn't worry too much. Best to avoid the negativity, it can get you more down than a loss.

Woof has lost a lot of good posters over the years because of some of the stuff written. I tell you what, social media is just getting worse and worse.

No angst that I saw, and you're definitely part of the furniture and I can say that as a relatively latter day lurker to poster convert.

Maybe you could start some sort of thread around contract length or something to make yourself more invaluable?
