History says we kept the right guy, but I was still pretty shattered to lose Ward.
I don't remember doing it but I'll take your word for it.

Would you believe it, a former goal kicking coach at St Kilda!

Seems like a solid guy, obviously involved in the media, but believe he has been involved in coaching at various levels, took training one night at my club years ago.

Big plus being a left footer - hopefully he can help Jamarra.

Its just nice to some change after two seriously disappointing years. Hopefully the new facilities are ready to go close to the start of the preseason and it will feel like a breath of fresh air for all but in a reality its how Bevo decides to embrace the change that will have the biggest impact.

I reckon Bevo will embrace the changes and especially more so if we can be at Whitten Oval for our entire pre season.

Appointment is probably fine but can we all please acknowledge that Caleb cooked Geary in that final and not the other way around.

Given Bevo has been vocal about a lack of resources in football departments you would think getting resources would make him happy.

I'm really wanting the players to knuckle down just as much as I want the coaching team to be cohesive.

Can't blame resources, can't blame Skinner reserve, there's no excuses across the board.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I could be very wrong here but it always struck me that as much as Bevo was lamenting the cutbacks to the footy department it was about the fact that he had to let the guys like Joel Corey and Dale Morris go.

Here's a question. The rumour was that if Callan Ward had said no to GWS then the next player in line was SS Easton Wood. Would you had preferred to hang onto Callan Ward but lose Easton Wood or are you happy that Ward went instead?
I guess keeping Ward means no Macrae. Close enough to like for like.

I wonder if we would have got the same compo band for Wood, and if we would have been been able to pick up an AA B&F premiership captain with that pick.

I rate Ward really highly and I think he probably would have given us more over his entire career than Easton, but Easton's 2015-16 was key to us winning a flag.

I doubt there will be any problems there.

I guess what I'm saying is irrespective of whether these are backfill and/ or updates for/ to existing positions he would be happy to get his hands on them. None of these hires would have been secured without his input.

And call me cynical, though I'd not be surprised if the titles given to the new hires were as much about attracting talent targeted as they were a strategy of the club itself.

Yep. We turned a bad situation (the loss of a local boy we had let a decent player go to get the draft pick for) into a great outcome.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
