    Re: 2017 Draft Watch

OK, been watching this kid play every week for Glenelg and staggered he hasn't been mentioned as a draft chance yet.

Young Ian Milera, just 19 (younger brother of Terry) built like a jockey but has blistering speed and uncanny skills and decision making. Is lighting up Glenelg Oval week after week and winning our goal kicking. Has come from rookie to crowd favourite in 8 weeks.

On the down size, he's very slight and VERY quiet to talk to, but i'm certain if he keeps on doing what he's doing he'll be drafted at the end of this year for sure. So if anyone needs a fast, accurate, small forward who knows where the goals are, he's your man.

Sounds precisely what we need. More so, if we considered him I'd look forward to him being turned into a midfielder similar to many others we have!
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I see Terry Wallace has put together his top 20 draft picks and he has Darcy Fogerty at number 1 which I think is a good call.

There still seems to be a few good prospects outside of his 20 so while the draft might not be as deep for stars it's too early to say it's a very shallow draft.

He's actually struggled a bit in his league matches at Glenelg, spends too much time throwing his weight around and not getting a lot of possessions. At a guess has averaged 3 to 4 free kicks against. Will kill someone in the 18s states champs.

I've seen a bit of TAC footy especially over the last few weeks and while reports haven't been overly flattering about the depth of the draft I don't think it's too bad.

I'll be interested in the National Carnival games over the next few weeks.

Here are some players I'd like to think might be available around our selection

Joel Garner, 183cm - Composed midfielder or defender with great skills.
Jack Higgins, 178cm, goal kicking forward or midfielder.
Noah Balta, 194cm key forward who is a stong mark. Can play in the back line as well.
Nick Coffield, 190cm defender or midfielder who possess good pace and skills.
Matthew Ling, 182cm attacking small defender. Really takes the game on.
Lachlan Fogerty, 179cm midfielder. Good all round skills.
Oscar Clavarino, 195cm tall defender. He's a dour type who really sticks close to his opponent.
Oscar Allen - 191cm key forward from WA who a mate of mine rates highly.

There might even be a couple of smokies we are prepared to take a chance on

Jungle drums are that the Dogs are interested in Charlie Ballard from Sturt.

What type of player is he?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Ballard can play in a variety of positions but I question his kicking skills. If a team was confident they could improve his kicking then he would be rated a lot higher.

After Lewis Young this year, project talls from Sturt can be a thing I'm content to do again.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
