Re: 2017 Draft Watch
Vindicated on Foster, McPherson showed signs but is now out of the system?
Dunkley aside, the only FS overlooked by their club I thought we should have considered was James Stewart - had a good first year at GWS, then went backwards, then showed signs at Essendon. KPF height but more of a mobile HF roamer rather than true KPF. He would have played senior football for us this year.
Collingwood must have rued overlooking him, ditto Picken multiple times. Malthouse asked his recruiters about him not realizing he was a FS pick because he liked the way he played at Willy (back in the Collingwood-alignment days) but was knocked back as Collingwood said he was 'too scrappy'.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

That's hilarious. In 2017, Malthouse said Picken was his favourite player to watch in the competition.Vindicated on Foster, McPherson showed signs but is now out of the system?

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
Malthouse didn't even know he was FS eligible, just liked the way he played.
Amazing the coach just gets so ruled out of recruiting discussions, but he mentioned the recruiters see far more of the kids than coaches do so deserve to be trusted.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
Nathan Murphy is the interesting one. I wouldn't be surprised if he is on our radar. Seems to tick a few Dalrymple boxes ie, late birthday, good form late in the season, plenty of upside due to cricket focus, can play forward and back, good kick.Listening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
He's certainly someone who could squeeze into the top 20 calculations and perhaps comes into calculations for us at pick 9. He's got a great balance and plenty of upside. He is better suited as a defender and he isn't a high possession winner nor quick but now that his focus is solely on footy he will improve a lot.

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
What has happened to the stocks of Sam Hayes. I thought I read Richmond may look at him.
Clubs are reluctant to look at ruckman.FFC: Established 1883

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
Perhaps with early picks although if a Nic Nat was available I couldn't see him sliding far.
I think Richmond will be all over him at pick 20 if he is available. Clubs seem to believe ruckman aren't a priority but it will turn when a club has some success playing two ruckman forwards.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
I'm warming to Hunter Clark. Good kick either foot and strong overhead. Looks to have good versatility. Has played midfield/half back in juniors but looks to have a good skillset for the high half forward role at AFL level for mine. Looks a good kick at goal.
Maybe it's just the hair, but watching the above, can't help but think of the Bont.Comment

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
I don't think we would be disappointed with that selection. He's a good all round player.http://www.afl.com.au/video/2017-10-...s-hunter-clark

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
afl.com.au reporting Freo, North, St Kilda & Collingwood are all into Brayshaw. If true, scratch him off falling to 9 let alone 7.

Re: 2017 Draft Watch
SEN reporting Freo likely to take Hayes at 5
AFL reporting Carlton are a chance to take Fogarty at 3
Also some rumours floating around Collingwood could go with Brander or Naughton at 6
If those scenarios happen a nice player is going to slip through to usListening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment
