Any delisted player can be redrafted or rookie listed by the club who delisted them if available at that clubs pick.
I did mention that list spots are the issue. I initially suggested that we would probably like one more pick (to get Hayes/State level player) before I realised that as it stands we are going to be out of list spots.

FWIW I saw photos from a few days ago that have Webb still in a neck brace (with a scarf around it), so I wouldn't be suprised if we talk to the AFL about having special permission to add a spot/move him off of the main list.

I thought you could but just read an article that made it clear it's just picks.

        From HS article

Trades must be completed before a selection is made — once a player’s name is read out they are locked in and cannot be traded.

If that's the case, then Adelaide has no reason to want pick 7 since we wouldn't be taking the person they'd want pick 7 for anyway.
If Rozee is still there at 7 you can guarantee Adelaide will throw everything at us to get him. It is a real opportunity for us to exploit that if we are happy to take someone else at 8 and (probably) upgrade our pick 27.

It will all depend on which way GC go though. If they take the King boys it will likely occur, if they take an SA pair there is no way the third SA boy gets past Port's pick.

If Rozee is still there at 7 I hope we tell Adelaide to go get screwed and pick him(if Smith is gone). Just what we need.

The way to play it, if we were so inclined, would be to take Rozee at 7, then turn around and tell Adelaide we are happy with Rozee, but if they want him we will take their pick 8 and 15 instead.
They could also play a cunning game and say if you take Rozee with 7 we'll bid on West with 8 or 15 knowing that we are desperate for him but want him on the cheap.

I'm not sure we will do anything on draft night in terms of trades based on who is available. If anything will be organised for pick 7 I'd imagine it will be late in proceedings as Adelaide and Port will initially focus on Gold Coast or St Kilda for their picks

Not Bulldogs related but does anyone else think Carlton are a bit mad for passing on Lukosius so quickly? He could be that marquee player for a decade - not sure Walsh has the same ceiling.

You could easily add Rankine as being ahead of Walsh as well. Has Carlton actually committed to Walsh yet or is it more speculation that they need a midfielder?

The latest Oct list from Chris Doerre

Doerre will update and expand his phantom drafts as the event draws closer.

                      1. Carlton
                      Sam Walsh (VIC)
                      Height, Weight: 183cm, 74kg
Profile: The most highly touted midfielder in the draft class. An elite endurance runner with as advanced a game as any in an inside or outside role.

                      2. Gold Coast
                      Jack Lukosius (SA)
                      Height, Weight: 194cm, 85kg
Profile: The next prototype key forward who covers the ground like Nick Riewoldt, sees the game unfold before it happens and hits impossible targets by foot like no key forward we have seen. A potential generational player.

                      3. Gold Coast
                      Connor Rozee (SA)
                      Height, Weight: 185cm, 71kg
Profile: Athletic utility who is likely begin his career as a pressure forward before pushing up through the midfield. Combines clean skills with aerial ability and ground level prowess.

                      4. St Kilda
                      Max King (VIC)
                      Height, Weight: 202cm, 86kg
Profile: As difficult to defend inside 50m as any junior key forward in recent years. Kicked eight goals and took nine marks (six contested) in his only game this season before tearing his ACL.

                      5. Port Adelaide
                      Izak Rankine (SA)
                      Height, Weight: 180cm, 76kg
Profile: Possessing comparable talent to ex-Adelaide great Andrew McLeod and Hawthorn veteran Shaun Burgoyne, Rankine can turn games like no one else in this draft. A season one-ready forward and midfielder with speed, skill, goal sense and ball-winning capabilities.

                      6. Gold Coast
                      Bailey Smith (VIC)
                      Height, Weight: 185cm, 82kg
Profile: Arguably the best and most complete midfielder in the draft. Smith is not only a high production midfielder but also offers the best combination of contested ball-winning, reliable kicking and acceleration in this draft

                      7. Western Bulldogs
                      Ben King (VIC)
                      Height, Weight: 202cm, 85kg
Profile: Versatile key position player who is a capable marking forward or a key defender who can play both as a stopper and rebounder. He is more versatile and effective up the ground than his twin Max, but the less dominant close to goal.
                      ...

                      27. Western Bulldogs *bid on West likely to come 15-30
Rhylee West (VIC - Western Bulldogs father-son)
                      Height, Weight: 180cm, 80kg
Profile: Ball-winning midfielder with production on the board. Son of Scott, Rhylee is a prolific mid who starred for Vic Metro during the Under-18 Championships.

So it looks like we will get a gun player like B.King, Smith, Caldwell, Clark or Rozee at pick 7 and we know we will land West at pick 27.
We are also likely to land Khamis but for the other two picks do you have a player to in mind?

At Pick 32 (or close to). It depends on who we get at Pick 7 and who might slip. If we go with Benjamin King, hopefully a high pressure forward slips to us, so maybe McHenry or Foot. If we go with a small, could a tall forward/ruck type Bailey Williams slide to 32? Any thoughts if those guys get to Pick 32 G?

At Pick 63, we've been linked to Will Hayes or perhaps we need a mature ruck now, so maybe Zac Clarke? There's a couple of NGAs, are we interested in main listing Dawson at this point maybe? We've been linked to ammo's standout player Anthony Scott. Do we pull the trigger here, or wait for the rookie draft. St Kilda have also put a lot of work into him, if we wait to the rookie draft they could nab him before our pick.

No answers from me, lots of questions!

At pick 32 I have a few ideas in mind. It could come down to who slips through, otherwise

                              * Ned McHenry as a small forward/midfielder. Reminds me of clay Smith

                              * I would consider a bid on Kieran Briggs the ruckman tied to GWS

                              * Ely Smith the big midfielder from Murray

                              * Jacob Kositchke tall defender from Murray

would really love a goal kicker!

                              At pick 63

                              * Pick the best ruckman outside the AFL, I'm not sure who it is. Zac Clark or maybe Darcy Fort who we had at Footscray a few years ago but were happy to let him go

                              * If not maybe a mid sized or tall forward like Garoni, Gown or Farrant

                              * Noah Answerth as a medium defender

There are bound to be a number of better known players who slide down the draft order so I think there is potentially another bargain to be had.
Rated players like Ely Smith, Xavier O'Halloran, Jack Bytel or Jez McLennan could still be available and then there are the likes of Boyd Woodcock and Jacob Koschitzke that could fill a small forward or tall defender type role for us

The real test will be to see if we draft a more ready made player who might have been on a senior list before or has been around a state league.

I can't see us going for a Zac Clarke although he would be a good option for us.
