Does it need to be till the end of the year? I am not sure that is the case. The inference from most of the articles written and the talk in this thread is that to open up a spot it only needs to be a 6 week+ injury (which we have VDM, Dunkley and Treloar fitting comfortably into) rather than a season ending one.

What happens if the inactive player becomes active again is another question, I assume it would be the same rules that applied to the rookies years ago where they became active with injuries and reverted to inactive if the player was back fit.

      Chris Doere take:

      Western Bulldogs
      Likely number of picks: 0

      Greatest list need: Crumbing forward

Who should they pick: While the Western Bulldogs have no selections, they'd love to be able to add a forward who can inject speed, crumbing and forward pressure to their front half, which has long been a missing component. One player the Dogs should be considering later in the year if Tyrone Thorne doesn't slip through is Sam Lowson. Lowson would be a complementary piece as a forward with elite speed who heaps on forward pressure and is dangerous around goal.
      FFC: Established 1883

      Premierships: AFL 1954, 2016 VFA - 1898,99,1900, 1908, 1913, 1919-20, 1923-24, VFL: 2014, 2016 . Champions of Victoria 1924. AFLW - 2018.

I see this as a missed opportunity.
If we had our eye on a player or two who was taken before our pick we could pass.

Yes it does. In the case of the MSD, there's no inactive list to move the draftee to after 6 weeks, there's an extra primary listed player so someone has to be on the inactive list for the rest of the season.

In this case, someone has to be moved onto the inactive list before the inactive player becomes active again. So we would need another 6+ week injury to occur before the first 6+ weeks is up.

Wrapped for Footscray’s Jordan Boyd who just picked up by The Blue’s.
Good friends with the family, he is a cracking kid and deserves his chance.
            Raak not picked up.

              Good stuff KT!

Raak is good for us, right?

Seems like the country's ruck stocks have been cleaned out.

Are we seeing clubs go back to a two ruck combo instead of one main guy and a fill in.
Or clubs just getting some insurance in case of injury.

How did Melbourne have two spots? Tomlinson and Hore? Not sure what the point of this draft is tbh.

So Cody Raak and Ewan Macpherson didn't get drafted. Hopefully they continue to have solid season's and push their case as NG and F/S selections respectively for us come 2021 draft time.
