Fair enough. I saw this explanation for the 2021 SSP from state media earlier this year:

“Players overlooked in last year's NAB AFL Draft or previously delisted players will be eligible with this year's start to state league competitions crucial to players' chances after heavily interrupted 2020 campaigns due to COVID-19.“

The AFLPA site doesn't seem to have updated their FA rules diagrams since the ned of 2019 wich si frustrating as the AFL seem to change rules every year.

We made out like bandits last year though. JUH as an NGA just as the AFL suspended their rule about using picks only if you have list spots free. It was draft robbery we haven't seen since the days of GWS/GCS concessions. I do wonder if they'll try and tighten that rule ahead of likely Daicos/Darcy bids.

In our wildest dreams they leave it. But they probably should tighten it up. If another decision favours us while Melbourne likely lose Big Mac, I’m sure heads with explode. But the situation last year is pretty much the same. I don’t expect integrity from the AFEL, but dispassionately the argument around loosening the rule exists this year. It could massive again for us, but I’m not expecting too much. But geez, it would be huge for Sam Power.

Jordan Clarke wants to go to Freo according to Tom Morris. No surprise there.

Cats also delisted SA youngsters Ben Jarvis & Cam Taheny.

Think they are cutting at the wrong end of their list, lol.

Ben Jarvis could be worth a look. Couldn't get a go as a half forward with all those oldies that Scott prefers. He played as a mid sized half forward in that outstanding SA team that smacked everyone in the u/18's.

From Sam Edmund....only believe a smidgen.

                  Jarrod Brander (West Coast)

“He’s still waiting to learn his fate at West Coast,” he said.

“I believe Geelong has an ongoing interest in Jarrod Brander, he was a boarder at Geelong Grammar before being drafted high and I’m told there’s an ongoing interest there.

“The Cats think they can turn him into something special.”

Doesn’t quite seem right that clubs are allowed to recruit free agents while the season is still in play. Players in our positions of need getting moved around and while Power will be working on it I would think we are unlikely to risk distracting the playing group by signing anyone.

Surely it’s either open it up all season (NRL style) or wait until all teams are done?

Cats to ask for Mundy in return for Clarke to keep their age profile?

Classic boom or bust type of player. 195cm but plays as a running player but isn't that quick. I think he has a decent tank but not sure. A bit of Andrejs Everitt type really, can play but where?

Brander is seriously so bad. Please don’t mention him again.

He’s just a nothing player. No outstanding skills, no great athletic traits, just a whole lot of nothing happening.

Port Adelaide ruck-forward Peter Ladhams will explore his options ahead of the trade period as the Power attempt to change their forward mix after their finals failure.

Ladhams has one more year left on a three-season deal and, despite mid-year speculation, was happy to remain at the club after booting 13.5 in 17 games this season.

But the Herald Sun can reveal, in his exit meeting, the club suggested he might like to consider his options given their list of key talls and determination to remain with first-choice ruckman Scott Lycett well into the future.

From HS article by Jon Ralph.
