We have been linked to Ceglar.

    23 + 44 + 45 = 1524 draft points. Pick 17 = 1025, so a 499 gain there.

Bids in the top 3 picks for Darcy would require the following points to match (includes 20% discount):
    1 2400
    2 2013
    3 1787

      If it's pick 17 out and 23,44,45 in it's a win.

1025 points out and 1524 points in.

If Darcy is bid on in top 5 here are the points required (first column points second with 20 percent discount) :

      1 — 3000 — 2400

      2 — 2517 — 2014

      3 — 2234 — 1787

      4 — 2034 — 1627

      5 — 1878 — 1503

GWS have sort have indicated they would bid on him at pick 2. If that's the case we at least hope North doesn't bid and we try to find a few extra points through player trades (Lipinski, Young) or further pick swaps.

We are close enough now. Young & Lippa should bring in enough to get to Pick 2. Then selling Pick 23 to the highest bidder cements us in as comfortably Pick 2. Then have a live trade for a future pick for a 2021 pick to avoid deficit if necessary.

I’m really comfortable about Darcy, and that leaves Wally still weighing things up. If we are looking for trading players in, we might need to look at future pick/s. Which would mean we can’t trade the 2021 First.

That’s a good trade if true.

Assuming North also bid on Daicos at 1 (which you'd think they would) then hopefully GWS are bidding at pick 3

Aren't we supposed to draft at least three players? What picks will be left to do that after Darcy? Can we draft rookies, eg Roarke and Sweet as our draft picks?

                    Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk

Tom Browne just reported it looks like Melb might get our pick 17, in a 4 way trade of picks with Melb, Saints and Adelaide.

                    From AFL site…

That deal will see the Bulldogs trade out pick 17 for more points to secure father-son prospect Sam Darcy, with the Dogs set to hold picks 23, 44 and 45.

Melbourne will buy back into the early stages of this year's draft by trading out its future first-round pick to secure pick 17 from the Crows.

The four-way deal will also see the Demons end with a draft hand of 17, 37 and 49, while the Crows will now have two first-round picks in 2022 as well as picks 33 and 75 in this year's pool.
I will never see #16 the same!!

                          Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk

surely we are talking with Graham Wright:

                          Max Lynch (Collingwood)

“We’ve had discussions with a few clubs about ‘Lynchy’.

“That ruck merry-go-round hasn’t quite kicked off yet. If a domino or two falls in the next day or two, I think that’ll start to move a bit. Lynchy might be part of that.

“Graham Wright at Collingwood has been great in saying that they would like to keep Lynchy, but if there is an opportunity out there for him to go and compete to be a number one ruckman, they’re willing to look at that as well.

“That’s what Lynchy’s working through at the moment – he loves the Pies, but when you’re sitting behind Brodie Grundy who’s there for a long time to come, he’s got to consider what some other options might look like.”

There’s definitely a scenario floated where Horne-Francis goes one and Darcy gets bid on at 2. I believe Jason Macartney may have mentioned it as Darcy is more in line with the type of player they need (plus they would *!*!*!*! is over)

I would prefer we had enough points to prepare for the unlikely scenario - who knows what happens.

1,787 Points needed after Discount at Pick 3

Trading/splitting Pick 23, Young, Lippa, others will cover the points.

Might not have a late draft presence. Maybe brings Raak passed Pick 41 & MacPherson passed pick 52 more into frame. Perhaps rookie elevation between drafts.
I agree with your assessment List Manager. Nearly 500 points gained is massive. It's Sam Poweresque
