For those of us not watching, what was the Swan's great play?
Bid on a GWS academy kid the pick before GWS. They had no contingency plans to trade it out so they had to give up pick 17 for a much earlier than expected bid

They bid on a GWS academy player at 16 that forced them to use a much higher pick than anticipated.
(Harry Rowston)
GWS looked caught out and didn't split 17 by trading it so had to use it. I'm sure they had another player lined up at 17 which was the next pick.
They looked annoyed GWS lots of head shaking.
Sorry DR, talking about the GWS crew - Sydney bid on one of their players (Rowston) earlier than expected, and it looked like there were differences of opinion about whether or not to match. The Giants staff did not look like they were expecting that bid.
Updated: Make that 18 & 20 - for F1 and Picks 24 and 40 - Allan and George?

Excellent, well done Swans.
How did our Fletcher bid affect the Lions? Did they have to give up much more?

Hawks did it for 18.
