44 would be a little unders. 25-35 i think is the range. They might have to do some creative work.

To become an AFL player, he has to improve:
    - Slow, both off the mark and top speed, slow to stop, and change direction. He will struggle to change these to a strength
    - Still skinny through the chest and hips, he has so much work to do, to get grown man strong.

I have no issue with the draft selection though, I think most teams would have taken him, where we did.
Yes his speed is going to be his downfall. I'm not sure he can improve it sadly.

I don't see it with Buss. Agree we had to pick him there.

    Huge pass.

The bloke left Gold Coast and arrived at Carlton and was promptly suspended because of extra curricula activities. Took more time off mid-season because of MH. Carlton have asked him to explore his options after only one season.

Don't forget Jones didn't come good until he was mid 20s.

    Coffield - Cut
    Poulter - Cut
Buku - Trade is the right thing for all, if Buss is picked ahead of you, time to get out at his age

He was effectively a cat B rookie for us back in 2018 so he has completed 7 years at the club.

The knock on him has been his endurance and that he's isn't as competitive as he should be when the footy is below his knees.
I'd be happy enough for Buku to stay but I'm glad we're not the ones offering him a four year deal.

It's a loss for us in that 3rd tall, swingman role and depth in that sense. He showed strong signs at times this year and IMO has some real value, so while we should support him with his request, the investment into him and what he can offer deserves some value coming back the other way. We don't have to be silly, like Essendon supporters and be looking for a first round pick for everyone that leaves but it'd be nice to facilitate a trade for a good servant and get something that helps us back the other way instead of just tossing around late picks.

Good luck to Buku he is making the right call to move on, a 4 year deal is what he needs.

Shame because I like him and he keeps improving. What do we think we'll ask for? He's very good depth, versatile, and contracted. I know his 'worth' on production doesn't warrant a second round pick but anything beyond that, I'm not sure it's worth it for us.
We bleed a lot of players in their mid 20s

It's a marginal call and I get the delist Scott argument. The injury/concussion history is clearly part of the decision-process.
    Yep, I hear ya.

Seems like an elite clubman too and that's a big tiebreaker if it's a close call.
