He's been starved of chances, so I'm willing to give him a crack.

We probably thought the same re Harmes and he's been pretty good.
Harmes had runs on the board in his career except the last year he was with Melbourne where he was injury effected and not picked. Roberston to date has played very few games, although he played 16 from memory in 23 and was pretty average. Maybe he is better than I think, but what role does he play?

Do we think Harmes is best 23 next year still?

But let's not convince ourselves he is Worrell in waiting.
From what I’ve seen he’s Duryea’s replacement, better defensively than Bramble, quicker than Cleary. He might be the one JJ is waiting on

We don't need an extremely limited "Defensive Midfielder"; we need everyone to do their defensive bit and improve positioning when needed.
    List Clodder.

While it's a bit of a bonus we are looking at an upgrade and depth in the back line so to be honest the age part isn't a huge consideration for me at the moment.
He's been in the system for 4 years and has racked up a heap of games at the VFL so he's got 'some' experience behind him.
Serong is stuck behind a few others at the Hawks so he might look at Bramble and see he could have a good opportunity with us.
I hope we have reached out to him.

He made the VFL team of the year and is out of contract. Good skills as well

Worth a look. Also are there any quality key backs in the WAFL or SANFL, the likes of Comben, that we could look at?
