I still don't get what STK is trying to do with this?
      >>5. Brad Crouch (St Kilda)
Are they thinking they are in the PS window and need him there? Wouldn't it be better cutting your lost and move on for a real rookie?

I think he has significant injuries and is effectively retired. This gives them a main list spot but helps them manage his remaining salary.

How many genuine rookies are there in that list?

Ivisic will be happy to stay in Geelong, and Leidler was a small defender we were linked with. But 90% of that list are 'delisted rookies'.

They have shuffled his contract over to the rookie list that is all.

Crouch signed a 4 year contract when he joined the Saints with a trigger for a fifth year (2025). He needed to play 1 game in 2024 to trigger it, guess how many games he played?

To be fair he barely missed a game in his first 3 years at the Saints and his 1 game this year was round 1.

I don’t like being fair to them, but if it’s R1 that’s excusable. Just checked his game, 15 touches, that’s a very expensive 15 touches.

We did the same with Keith but in a better way didn't we? Did we somehow paid out Keith contract?

I definitely reckon that something must be up with Cochran for the Swans to not bother matching a bid for a tall with his athletic profile.

That's the main reason why we would call him your boy.

Can someone explain to me why we did not pick a rookie , but keep one position open for SSP ?

                              Q. Do the club want a closer look at a few other players over the next few weeks to train with them?

Just like to get anyone feedback/insight on this strategy.

                                Options.

We can still select a rookie kid not selected. Or A DFA. Or A state leaguer. But without the time pressure to do it today.

We can trial a ruck, small forward and small defender and see who will make the biggest difference amongst the playing group.

We did this a few years ago when we selected Scott. We overlooked Raak, Preston & MacPherson. Ultimately looked at our options with patience and made the best call. Doing it again.
