I took some joy out of the below quote from Chris Maple. I think the win says some very big things about McCartney's game plan and about our younger brigade. Both have been written off far too early by some in my opinion. Take Goodes out of the equation and who was the next oldest AFL listed player in the premiership team? I am pretty confident it was Grant at 25. I didn't see too many list cloggers out there, just an awful lot of future potential and a game that stands up under finals pressure. I am in a pretty good place right now. I am looking to add 'Another One' to the front of my user name.

That mass hug when Lin Jong kicked that goal must have had thirty people in it.

Have you added Pembleton to the list? I noticed he was missing.

How did everyone view Howard's performance? He seemed to get a bit of it earlier but made some glaring mistakes.

He had a real crack for the most part. In doing so he made a few mistakes but would rather see that than a player go into his shell.

Pick 5 or pick 50 the choice wasn't his.

He, along with 24 others did their bit yesterday.

I'm just very, very grateful to all of them.

And I'm just so very, very happy for every Footscray supporter from all the corners of the planet, who for once in their life was able to grin and say 'we did it'.

Of course they do, but a bloke with his ability should be killing it against that opposition .

I'm sorry to be a killjoy but to me and many, he's been a big disappointment .

I sat at the game in front of an elderly couple who spent the entire game berating Jones and Goodes each time a mark wasn't taken or they were brought down in a tackle. There was very little else that they said other than their abuse of these two and their criticisms had a well practised sound to them. In the last quarter when Jones was the difference they went very quiet and when Goodes won the Norm Goss medal I didn't hear them cheer. I think is some ways their experience was lessened by the good form of these two and they seemed to take little joy from our great win. Sad, very sad.
