I feared we were gone when Hawks got 3 goals up in the last. So I did what I used to do at my son’s basketball, barrack with passion to influence the players to get in touch with the feeling of resurgence. I wasn’t the only one. The supporters had belief and so did the players. It is a feeling of transcendant hope and fight inherited from our tribal past. It was manifested in that sublime 3 goal wave when Dickson goaled, then Jones and Redpath to dare to win the unwinnable and Agincourt had another name… ‘Footscray’.

Jong was just sensational, but Talia's game had me smiling the most.

Watching him the last few weeks I haven't had to look away whenever he has had the ball. He looks to have really worked on his kicking which is very noticable.

Tutt's and Johannissen's run were critical in breaking the lines, something the firsts lack. The whole team seized the moment, this one could have easily got away.

I've only got to watch the last 1/4 on iView as of yet, but am impressed with the skills in general, very few kicks failed to meet their target. Transition along the wing, playing on quickly and hitting the target.

Tutt's and Johannissen's run were critical in breaking the lines, something the firsts lack. The whole team seized the moment, this one could have easily got away.

Box Hill were 3 goals in front in the last quarter and were a goal away from killing us off. When they missed that set shot from 15 out right in front the whole game seemed to change.

I put it down to Westdog54 standing up and starting a Footscray chant. That chant tipped the scales I reckon. Gamechanger.

Box Hill were 3 goals in front in the last quarter and were a goal away from killing us off. When they missed that set shot from 15 out right in front the whole game seemed to change.

I put it down to Westdog54 standing up and starting a Footscray chant. That chant tipped the scales I reckon. Gamechanger.

It felt wonderful to get that chant going. There were smiles all around me.

That mass hug when Lin Jong kicked that goal must have had thirty people in it.

I have now. Thank you for reminding me. I caught up with a ridiculous amount of people yesterday. Mostly by chance.

Great observation. I thought it was really noticeable right from the start of the game how Talia's kicks were hitting targets when others were struggling. A couple were actually pretty challenging up against the boundary. His kicking has come a long way.....very disciplined at kicking within his limitations.
