We have been to Agnes...as the locals call it and after a month I am now one...a few times over the years and fell in love with the place BAD. Circumstances stopped us over the years even thinking of moving here but last winter in Melbourne convinced us there was nothing stopping us. Our 3 girls had moved out and like a lot of Woofers are struggling in Victoria but all 3 encouraged us to go too. It truly is a beautiful place with the adjoining township of 1770 a special place too. One of 3 beaches in Australia that faces north. We also wanted a few acres close to the beach and this place fits the bill exactly. The locals call it Queensland's secret. To make everyone jealous we even have banana trees in our backyard. True. I would certainly enjoy a welcoming beer with any Woofers coming this way. Just pm me. Hopefully life will get much better for everyone soon as possible.

HORROR DAY: 723 new cases and 13 deaths confirmed in devastating blow to Victoria's COVID fight

Victoria has reached a devastating milestone, recording the biggest day in COVID-19 cases and deaths since the start of the pandemic.

On Thursday, Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed 723 new cases of the virus were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the state’s total to almost 10,000.

This means the figures have more than doubled since Wednesday’s 295 cases.

In another tragic record for the state, Victoria also had 13 more deaths, which brings the state’s death toll to 105.

“Today is not a good day. And as the numbers show, this virus does not discriminate,” Andrews said.

On Thursday, the premier announced face coverings would become mandatory for all of Victoria, including all regional areas, from midnight on Sunday.
