      Littlefinger's?

Will be interesting to see what happens to Jaime when he reaches The North.

There are now so many plot lines to resolve. Will 6 episodes do it justice?

Someone was saying all the episodes in Season 8 are over 80 minutes each? This is almost equivalent to 10 x 55 minute episodes

The article above lists the best episode of each season - which I agree with. Were going to watch each one in the lead up to next week. We have already re-watched season 7.

I know its not quite the same but I've resorted to using Youtube to try and get up to speed with who's who, what's happened and what's to come.

Even if I don't actually get to watch final series, I just want to know how it ends. I'm a stickler for closure.

Can any of the GOT aficionados identify which sword that is? It doesn't look like any of the main ones.

At first I thought it might be Widow's Wail.

Without being an aficionado I'm going to guess it's just one they had around. The pommel looks like a bit of a giveaway that it might be from some other fantasy setting

                    Re: Game of Thrones

Just to make the counter argument, I am so out of GOT. What started off as an awesome show has simply become stupider and stupider over the past two series - series 7 was simply ridiculous from start to finish.

Little things like the premise of 'time' seem to have been completely suspended - once upon a time it took the Stark daughter who carries the mini-sword thing and the guy with the burns about 273 episodes to journey north...now they do it in less than an episode...

Yes, I know it is fantasy and therefore you have to 'suspend belief' but I am so out...
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

If anyone has a subscription to The Australian, this is a link to a great article about an Australian former Police Officer, Natalia Lee, who works as an armourer on the set of Game of Thrones.

She designed and built Heartsbane, the Tully family Valyrian Steel longsword.

Those who have paid close attention to the trailers know that Heartsbane has a role to play in the wars to come.

I still haven't watched more than the ten minutes I saw of the first episode. It's a bit like Vikings in that I sit there and think "Hang on, these guys are historical figures but they lived 300 years apart from one another."
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

That's an odd thing to think about Game of Thrones if I'm understanding you correctly.

                            Re: Game of Thrones

A hell of a lot to unpack from the first episode but all of the main story arcs have basically been put in place.

A great cliffhanger to finish the episode on. I've watched a few 'reaction' videos on Youtube, there was near-universal despair that they left the episode the way they did.

The teaser for Episode 2 was interesting viewing and didn't really answer any questions.

Its mostly based on the Wars of the Roses when the Yorks and Lancastrians went at each other in the 15th century. Thing is though there are characters who are clearly based on vikings that lived 500 years before and there is a siege that is based on events that happened during the Crusades 2 or 3 hundred years before.

Sure but when it's just characters inspired by real characters and events rather than actual historical figures (which I imagine Vikings have) it doesn't seem like a real problem. Though I guess that's just a difference in taste at that point.
