With the only caveat being I'm not a detective and wasn't at the time, when I arrived in France as a 26 year old in 2007 by myself after leaving my friends in Barcelona who were heading south as a group without me probably comes close. After leaving them I had a few days in Marseille (amazing place) and really couldn't gel with anyone at the hostels etc. and made my way to Paris where I was staying solo. But that was only for a few days, I didn't even stage or commit a single crime.......that wasn't against their native language.

But to me McNulty was a bland and self-indulgent (we're aligned) piece of shit a lot of the time, who had both admirable and bad traits obviously. I think I definitely need to view him through the eyes of me twenty years ago and not today, though as while we are all still monkeys we've collectively evolved.

The one I don't think should be near it is GOT due to it being just a bit better than Friends, however, I'm really glad to see Bojack Horseman get the cred it deserves because it is really cold, cutting, compassionate, devastating and everything else all at once and in cartoon format it's an absolute killer. Didn't see Counterpart on the list and that's a shame, whilst Dark was rated much too low, as it is clearly the best thing Netflix has done.

I'm glad they picked The Thick of It. Just about my favourite comedy of this century with the Office and Extras. And It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Spaced had 2 series the first in 1999 and then the second was in 2001. It was a great show but I guess that strictly speaking half of it was in the last century.
