Slow Horses is pretty good. 6 ep UK series with Gary Oldman as a crusty old MI5 agent heading the drop out squad.
Slow burner got good by the end Oldman is fantastic as per usual. It's another Apple TV series.

Will check it out, was a bit apprehensive given the schtick of it being made by the creators of The Wire.

It is loosely based on events in Baltimore where there were a number of corrupt police. The same writer and creator of The wire.

If you know anything about this era of the Lakers, Jerry West has already asked for an apology for their portrayal of him. It’s definitely a dramatised version of events.

Yeah I can’t figure out if it’s actually a good show or not but I’m loving Winning Time too. Kinda wish they got a better actor than John C Reilly for the lead though, especially since they dragged Adrien Brody off the couch for a bit part.

Will Ferrell desperately wanted to play Buss and apparently not being cast has ended his friendship with Adam McKay.

Well shit. Now I gotta watch the show knowing we could’ve had Will Ferrell playing Ric Flair playing Jerry Buss.

I am watching a French drama series on BBC Iplayer called the Mission. really good so far. Short 25 minute episodes in a mix of French and English.

Just finished the first season of Ted Lasso, is it worth going on with the second? Sure it warmed my heart and gave me some nice well natured lols but I can't see where it goes.

Also finished the first season of Severance. Good show and interesting concept, though a bit of a mish mash of a bunch of things. Should be interesting to see how they pull it together in the second season.

Watched both seasons for the first time in the last two months. Second season wasn't quite as strong for mine, and also features a truly terrible episode that also happens to be very long and basically killed off my enthusiasm for the series, but aside from that it's basically more of the same.

It's good, and I get the love, but I think you'd be better off watching other stuff and then coming back to it later. As a show its major trait is "likeable" and I think thats quickly diminishing returns when you watch too much back to back.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Watching a four part ITV production called Anne.

True story of a mother (Anne Williams) who fought for justice for the victims of the Hillsborough Disaster. Anne lost her son and never believed the Police were telling the truth

Re: What are you watching at the moment

Haven't got through anywhere near as much as I've wanted to, but have finished Station Eleven which if you can stomach a pandemic / post-pandemic story tangentially about the importance of art, is a strong and enjoyable watch.
Also finished S3 of Atlanta. Remains one of the most incredible TV shows going around. Can be maddening at times but I can't recall a show that will cover so many areas of culture and steadfastly do whatever the hell it wants, however the hell it wants.
Wading my way through Stranger Things S4. 2 eps of Ozark to go and then I can be done with it.
Have also watched 3/4 of a show on Stan called From. It's a pretty effective horror mystery about people who get trapped in a town they can't escape from, which also happens to be infested after dark by some sort of demonic monsters who feast on humans. Not a show where you want to think to hard about some of the practical elements, but a pretty solid popcorn show with some good scares.
