        VAR ruling that the ball was not completely out, the ensuing goal saw Japan upset Spain, top their group and eliminate Germany from the World Cup in the group stage, again.
        What sent Germany home was their inability to find the back of the net when they were dominating against Japan. Blaming the VAR is sensationalism and an easy out for Germany’s total lack of composure. They only have themselves to blame.

            Well, there's been plenty of highlights in this group of third games but Hwang Hee Chan's 91st minute winner to send South Korea through is gonna be tough to beat. Absolute scenes, ripping run and pass from Son, awesome support run and finish from Hwang. Tough for Uruguay to miss that way, especially with Portugal resting some starters against South Korea, but brilliant theatre.
            Nice to see a Wolves player with some joy, not much of it recently

                        In all, a really good first half. Unfortunately keeping Messi from creating an opportunity for 90+ minutes isn’t a super sustainable game plan no matter how well you defend. Can’t see a lot changing tactically in this half though.

                                                Making the last 16 has been a massive achievement for this team, but they’ve been found out against one of the best teams in the world (again)
