It's Japan. They will give 100% I'm sure about that.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Japan gave 100% but lost 1-0. Had a good chance to equalise with 10 to go.

The road to Russia is Syria and then most likely Panama or Honduras

USA playing Honduras has just started. USA lose that and we could play them.
We have to get past Syria 1st.

We want Honduras for sure. Not the US. Even Panama before the US.

North America have 3 games left in their group so long way to go.

Good for us that away game is not in Syria so no home ground advantage for them.

I'm pretty sure their home ground in Raqqa has been bombed several times. Scoring goals on it would be like Happy Gilmore's final put to win the Players Championships.

It is not within the Japanese mindset to not give 100%. They value effort more than the actual result. It's ingrained in their culture. The Saudia Arabia goal was from the top shelf. Patient build up and clinical finish.

Devastating that we now have such a difficult path to reach the World Cup. We only have ourselves to blame. Three times we drew after being ahead in away games (Thailand, Iraq and Saudia Arabia). When you are ahead away, you shut up shop and take the three points. Ang has let himself and the nation down by refusing to change his shape and tactics to suit different scenarios.

Agree 100% with the last sentence but at the start of qualification you would havd signed off on 19 points from 10 games - Sth Korea finished 2nd in the other group with only 15 points so we are very stiff to miss out with only 1 loss. We had the much tougher group with Japan, Saudis and UAE, and the reality is that we aren't a great team nor do we have great depth.

Our approach to the Japan away game last week was very frustrating. If it's good enough for champion teams like Italy to be more defensive and pragmatic away from home it should also be for us.

                      Sounds like Liverpool.

I'm not sure but didn't Japan drop some players?

We should get Honduras the yanks play the bottom 2 now.

No, the USA play Panama next, who are 3rd.
It is a massive game, if Panama were to beat the USA, they have no chance of getting 3rd.
Honduras who are 5th, play both Mexico & Costa Rica in their last 2 games. I could easily see them rolling over to stuff up the USA's chances, especially Mexico.

That explains why the team was so disfunctional in front of goal last night.

Timmy looked lost out there at times. We missed Aaron Mooy big time last week against in Japan.
