Well Lord hasn't shown all that much as a forward apart from a final when he kicked 4 so a switch back could be on the cards.

However as far as I know he was drafted as a forward and only played forward with Port so it would be a gamble to bring him in as a defender with little to no exposed form there. He's contracted for another year and I can't see Port giving him away cheaply.

I can confirm that bigdog was not one of my sources for Zak Butters trade news.

It's a pretty bizarre link unless he's been spending some time down back in the twos.

I'd rather we threw the net a little wider in terms of players that we've seen do the job at AFL level. Ben Miller at the Tiges is only contracted until the end of next year and wouldn't be on much cash - I wonder if that's the kind of player whose ear we could get in.

Regan would know him well. It's seems a bit far fetched but lets see what happens in the next 2 days

I still think we can't give him away for nothing - for gods sake he was a first round draft pick and has shown he can play.

It's a tough one isn't it? What do you think would be a reasonable level of compensation?

It is a hard one, and I must admit I am not good at estimating compensation. I would love a first rounder but it would be a risk for GC given his actions in the last 18 months.

What would you be happy with?

Can we just tear up his contract and give him a minimum chips deal with incentives for one year?

I have a bad feeling that one day we are gonna find out that JUH had already committed to GC earlier this year and they were all “Yeah, maybe dont head to training”. I mean we know BS likely had shaken hands with Geelong as much as 18 months early. Only the dogs could get played like this.

I don't doubt that Smith and Geelong had consummated their relationship 18 months before he left us, but I don't believe the same thing has happened with JUH. This has Dimma thought bubble written all over it - he has received a lot of plaudits for getting wayward but talented players like Marlion Pickett to the Tigers and become a success, and with his extreme confidence/arrogance thinks he can do the same with JUH. And with massive offers likely to come for Ben King next year, it's actually cheap insurance and pretty smart list management policy by GC to target a talented but wayward key forward on the cheap (neither Walter nor Read are ready to assume big dog key forward status).

It could just as easily fall in a heap mid next year because JUH cannot commit to the professional AFEL lifestyle and then he is banished from the game forever (a likely scenario, based on his actions and not his words). I don't care either way whether he succeeds or fails at GC - he has proven through his actions that he has zero gratitude and respect to our club for the precious opportunity he has been given, not to mention the massive amount of support the club has given to him and his family since high school to fulfil his dreams. He has no place at our club.

They have 2nd rounder that would okay with me.
So perhaps something like we give pick 32 for Budarick and we get 35 for Marra.
We then add 35 to our pick 11 to get pick 6 off them.
It's a shame we don't have bulldogtragic here, there was no one better that sorting through all those trade machinations and making sense of them.

If you saw Marras condition in the pick-up game on the weekend you'd quickly realise this isn't like BS and Geelong.

I'd love for the club to be open and honest about the handling of this situation one day. I get personal matters should be kept private but the media has blasted this story all year. If Marra was injuired during pre-season and not able to play, i wonder how much media would've been reported meaning his trade value would be high considering the hype/potential/1st pick.

The media has significantly reduced our hand here.

Yeh. unfortunately there wouldn't be a team in the land who would give even close to a first round. I don't think we have been told the full story here. There is some really terrible shit gone down between marra and club. I bet all the ones asking the right people would know this. i honestly dont even think we would get a second round pick. I think the dogs will do their best but its money off the books they are after.
