Just give us this one big fish and I’ll never ask for anything again.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Bergman suffers from the "plays outside of vic" curse, so he's not talked about as much as he should be. He's a star, would be Ed Richards HB levels of good in our team. Super strong overhead, neat user, good defensively. There's a reason that teams like Essendon & the Saints are offering him long term deals on 800k + per year.

So Cal on Gettables spoke about Will Darcy. CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG PEOPLE! Said Will will be on an AFL List next season (ours) and showed plenty in his latest APS game. Important part is that he decided to not be on the Oakleigh Chargers list, not saying he was 100% good enough, but that is the reason. Is only playing school football but clearly his name is now getting attention. Seems like we tried to hide him but that is all over.

Is he though? I can't say I watch a lot of Port games but he seems solid and a little underwhelming. I think he projects more as a Bailey Williams type (this is not a diss), someone who can play a number of roles to a good standard but isn't a proper star piece like Richards is in defence or midfield.

All those attributes are ones he possesses and are cool, but I've never really seen him do anything proper influential with it.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I agree. Not in the way you mean, of course, but there definitely is a reason why those two teams in particular are doing it.

Soup nailed it. He’s a really underwhelming player who’s undersized for what his strengths are and has a little bit of Nighlightitis. Not interested at all at the money it would cost.

I actually think he is very under rated but not for us at that type of money and I think that if we were to raid the flat track bullies from Port we'll relieve them of Butters thanks.

Call me crazy, but I'm not sure Butters is really what our list needs right now. If Sam Taylor was available, then sure go hard, but I'm not a mid is the missing element

                  Butters is 24.

Bont is 29. Treloar is 32. Libba is 32.

It makes sense. Another A Grader to plan for the future is required.

If Wanganeen-Milera asks to go to Port, I wonder if we could swing a three way...
                    Port get nwm
                    Dogs get Butters
Saints get a couple of first round picks to mess up

We obviously didn’t try too hard. Every scout and his dog goes to APS games.

Excuse my ignorance but is Will Darcy Sam's younger brother?

I actually agree with yourself and Happy in that I don't think we should pay him what he's going to get elsewhere, but he's a gun. Bailey Williams is a solid comparison (i think he's a gun too). I see him as a defend first type HB, which is why he may not be as flashy or influential as other half backs but he still stacks up comparatively with intercept marks, metres gained and tackles with Ed when he was a full time HB at the same age.

If he nominates us, we take him. He's be an instant upgrade on Bramble and Cleary but yeah I think for the price that he'll likely fetch we're better off offering that to Butters (if that's even an option).

Even better Chef, Will is 17, Max is 15 and is also being talked about as a possible gun. There's a chancy we could have 3 Darcy's on the list in 3-4 years time.
