Yeah but he really had to be close to his GFs family without it having anything to do with wanting to get away from his own. And that's not even mentioning how badly he needed to be close to his best mates partner.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It was ordinary when it went through on the day.

I can see how this period is going to go for us. We need to pass on the outcasts from other clubs, free up some room on the main list and actually draft. Take our 4 picks and move on. I'd be pretty pissed off if we resigned all our low fringe players, grabbed someone's garbage and take 2 picks. We need to inject yourh and enthusiasm into this stale list, athough that will be difficult with a stale coach

Two top four picks by virtue of being shit is essentially one of the reasons why the concession/ priority picks system was problematic in the first place.
There's every chance we either pick a better player at 10/11, or develop them better, than whoever gets unlucky at North's pick 4 (6 after bids/compo)

So rumour has it the Dons are going to do a deal where they offer Gresham enough money to trigger first round compo! Then the Saints swap that back to the Dons for Shiel....actually no they'd keep that and swap something else more willingly.
I mean, this is all becoming a little insane.

The draft tampering here is next level.

The major (but not only) issue I would have with this is if Essendon are able to renegotiate the deal to spread out payments.

If they are stuck with losing cap space that?s one thing (not great), however if all parties know the deal will be changed to something more long term, with payments being diluted, then it?s a massive rort.

Assuming it?s true though. I?m more talking to the possibility of a loophole rather than this as an actuality.

The rumour also says the dons would restructure the deal. Not only that, it's a move by essendon to offload salary cap held by Shiel. Yes. Get rid if Shiel for salary dump but offer Gresham enough money to trigger band 1 compo.

It's an absolute rort. The fact it's being reported in mainstream media so normally just shows how messed up the system is.

It's absolutely messed up that you've got north and the saints actively shopping a player, wanting to get rid of them because they'd prefer the compo. Our dunkley pick gets pushed even further back with this. It'll end up being pick 30 at this rate

Ben McKay has nominated Essendon as his new home.

As a restricted free agent, North Melbourne has the right to match the bid.
However, if it’s over 750k+ a year and enough to net first-round (pick 3) compo, expect the Roos to let him walk.

I like this. He's the stereotypical essendon recruit to continue the streak.

Ex coach there probably helps. Pick 3 is an enormous compensation for a slightly above average key defender. North will be smiling if that one gets through.

Trouble is the compo is linked to the salary.

This combined with salary being able to be readjusted afterwards.

With the 30% increase in salary is 750k enough for band 1 now? I guess it's entirely irrelevant anyway. It's all about the agenda.

Yep this is the crazy part of futures, you're gambling your future and there's so many variables now that can make it vastly less valuable.
There should be no free agency compensation, if there is it should only be after the first round.
