    They took the deal.

I agree we should be concerned about the actions of the AFL and any potential cover up of bullying. If there was anyone in a position to stand up to the AFL it was James Hird.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

There's no proof though. What the AFL might say is robust discussion could be interpreted as bullying.

This is exactly what Hird and his cult members want people to focus on. This whole saga revolves around a a pharmacologically experimental environment at Essendon that was never adequately controlled or challenged or documented within the club, its potential health side effects to the players, and the integrity of the AFL competition in 2012. All of this occurred well before anyone was investigated, reported themselves, or were potentially tipped off that they were about to be investigated. With or without a tip off all of this would still have occurred, and it is the central basis of the whole saga.

Whether the tip off did in fact take place is the equivalent of a pimple on the arse of a hippopotamus, it's nothing more than a lame attempt at deflection, and I'm disappointed to see there are people who are falling for it. If Demetriou did tip of Essendon it was only in a last minute bid to help protect them, the bullying claim is obsurd, and the entire aspect is minutiae.

As for being a scapegoat, Hird is about the only person in a position of power still at Essendon.

Everyone else in a senior position at the club gets the sack or resigns...and the players injected with god knows what and possibly face sanctions...

While Hird gets a million bucks, a year off in France (funded by the club) and will return to a senior coaching job...

When I grow up - I want to be a scapegoat.

Eddie Mac on Fox Footy absolutely smashing The Hirds. Smashing them, said if it was Buckley and him as President he'd smash Buckley too. Eddie very annoyed.

Not just how, but why is this still going 14 months on?

                      Re: AFL targets Essendon Royalty

There used to be some holigraph thingy at the AFL museum, MCG, of James Hird retelling his magic life in Footy. I wonder it they will quietly replace that in years to come.

Oh and brilliantly written Stache. Like leaving the farm gate open resulting in financial ruin, then pointing the finger at someone for forgetting to milk the cows.

To Quote Bill Kelty ( I wondered where he had gone! ) “…this was an issue that was always about the welfare of the players and the integrity of the game.”

That's fair enough, but the programme went for more than 12 months before the whole thing blew up. Perhaps he should have dobbed them in from the outset.
