I for one moment do not think Hird would have taking the fall for anyone but to save his own skin, he got off so lightly, he should have got life.
Also IMO the AFL are just as corrupt and as manipulative as Essendon.

Spot on. Had it been us or any of the other small Victorian clubs we'd have been torn apart. All the dialogue from the AFL about it being a severe penalty made me feel sick.

Yeah, I've read through that article and thought 'this is exactly what I'd always imagined had happened, why the fuss?'

That's not to suggest that I'm not full of contempt for the attitudes of Little and Hird, the former absolutely disgraced himself with his unrelenting tone, but this kind of dredge journalism doesn't serve the game in the least.

Really? Considering the AFL has given assurances to the contrary how can this not be a legitimate story? This story is not about Hird or Essendon.....it's about the competency of the people running our game.
