And what exactly do they believe in? WTH.
I can't ever imagine a situation where Hawthorn have a doping program, and they get done for it,
but I like Alistair Clarkson, handsome, nice bloke, so I put on my Bulldogs top and head to the court room, right.
cause it's something I believe in.

Was just an example! I can't for the life of me imagine what these ladies 'believe' in other than the golden aura of Saint Hird.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

Essendon players placed on register of findings

Current and former Essendon players have been placed on the register of findings by an anti-doping panel, with the AFL expected to take the next step and issue infraction notices against those 34 players.
The Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel has found that there is enough evidence for the players to answer a charge of using thymosin beta 4. It follows that the AFL will issue infraction notices - which are expected to be imminent, within days - and convene a tribunal hearing.

ASADA has informed the players - via their legal team - that the ADRVP has placed them on the register of findings. This is no surprise and was widely anticipated once the players made the decision not to contest show-cause notices. The AFL also is understood to have been notified of this development.

The players had been hoping to have the cases heard by the tribunal - which is an AFL appointed body, likely to be headed by judge David Jones - before Christmas, to expedite their cases.

Technically, the AFL issues the infractions and, while the league theoretically does not have to issue those notices - which are the equivalent of a charge - the reality is that it has little choice but to proceed and then set up a tribunal hearing.
Despite concerns about a delay, James Hird's appeal to the Federal Court does not seem likely to postpone the process, since the players have been placed on the register of findings.

          Register of findings

The Anti Doping Rule Violation Panel - a separate statutory panel to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority - puts players on the register of findings once it has deemed there is sufficient evidence of an offence.

          Appeals

Once on the register of findings, a player can appeal to the administrative appeal tribunal. If the decision does not go the player's way, he can appeal to the Federal Court.

          Infraction notice

If a player on the register of findings does not challenge or the challenge fails, ASADA will notify the AFL an infraction notice should be issued. At this stage, ASADA can recommend the types of sanctions that are applicable. The AFL, as per its agreement with ASADA, is obligated to issue an infraction notice. The players can choose to accept the maximum penalty for the offence (in this case two years) or request a hearing before an AFL anti-doping tribunal.

          Provisional suspension

Once an infraction notice is issued, the players are provisionally suspended and the "ban clock" begins. This is less relevant in the off-season.

Good to see the process itself is still going ahead. The sooner it can be dealt with in hearings, the better.

I noticed a 2013 Essendon bumper sticker today that made me chuckle.

Originally it read 'Essendon whatever it takes 2013' and somebody had altered it to read 'Essendon whatever they take 2013' with a drawing of a syringe.

Caro didn't miss Paul Little in this piece. She's 100% correct.

Not normally a wrap for Caro, but agree this time she seems to be spot on.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

                    Great way to finish off

Early on Thursday, Luke Darcy declared on his radio program that the Bulldogs would look at Thompson now that he had become available. If Darcy was unaware that Thompson had already been available and had been out of contract since the end of October then he should not have been on the Bulldogs' coaching panel.

There must be other reasons why Darcy and co previously overlooked Thompson.

3AW are reporting with infraction notices set to hit the 34 current and former Essendon players, that it would mean captain Jobe Watson's 2012 Brownlow Medal would be stripped from him.

Could they give it to Chris Grant ?

Seriously wht is the opinion will they award it to the runners up in Cotchin and Mitchell or have just no winner ?

Its unprecedented, so hard to say what the final result would be.

I know that when Melbourne Storm were stripped of their premierships the NRL did not award them to anyone else.

I think they would have to re-assign it. Olympians are given medals if drug-cheating is found, horses are awarded races is swabs come back positive, etc.

They should have swabbed Woefulwoden and awarded it to Scotty, one good year of AFL and arguably the worst frontrunner to win the Brownlow and lets not forget about his friendship with Shane Charter.
