I noticed Joe Daniher and David Zaharakis both lined up for Essendon on Friday night. Found that interesting...

Zaharakis has claimed he never injected, due to he is scared of needles.

The recruitment of Sheedy back to the club smells a bit fishy to me, as does the contract lengths and terms given to the top up players recruited from the lower leagues.

I wouldn't be surprised the AFL has delayed the decision to the eve of the season because they'll be dishing out something more harsh than the six months expected (possibly seven or eight months from their last game) to appease WADA, knowing that they can't announce it now in light of supporter and membership backlash leading into the season. If found guilty, EFC and the players need to be held to account for longer than six months and the relatively small punishment of missing the preseason only. I think everyone (that doesn't follow EFC) acknowledges that.

Harvey and Sheedy will need to be on-hand to manage things from there, James Hird will need to be sacked.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

As azabob said, DZ claimed not to have injected. I really hope Daniher didn't get subjected to it as a minor.

I thought that was a throw-away line from Mark McVeigh.

In any case, I thought the whole list from that year had stood down, bar the 4 rookies who asked to play?

A lot of his lines should be thrown away, but I don't think this was one.

They are trying to protect the group which I understand but by doing so it leaves the guys at other clubs (Crameri, Ryder and Monfries) as the focus.

I can't wait for this mess to be sorted out.

I think it might be the public line they were using but it doesn't really hold up when DZ has a number of tattoos. I think credit to Zaharakis, he saw what was at best a dodgy program and said I'm the reigning best and fairest if I don't want to be involved then I'm not going to be involved. If that is the case then he should be cited as the example of what a proper professional is, not just some boofhead that claims it's not their fault they just took what the club gave them.

                    Tattoos? Are you sure?

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I don't believe this to be correct. I've seen it mentioned before but I'm not convinced.

It's something those guys would have known would occur when they left the Bombs, and in my view it speaks to their conviction to leave. They weren't running away from it, they would've known they'd become major focal points. Every time I hear about Crameri from an Essendon supporter (it's never kind words) I just think of Jobe's Tainted Charlie.

Although the tribunal will advise of 'guilty' or 'not guilty' - the actual sentences if 'guilty' won't come out until after further deliberation. So if the players are found guilty - which I suspect they will be to some degree - we won't know about Crameri's availability for a while, which is very frustrating. No way this is fully resolved in the first few weeks of footy unless the players are cleared....and then everyone stands around looking at each other wondering what the hell has been going on for 3 years.
