What if Beveridge wants to wait until the end of the year? I think he has been pretty clear on that this year. Just sayin.

Is that the coach or the ability of the players to adapt? I honestly don't know, but we've managed to adapt to opposition a few times this year.......a really good example was against GWS after quarter time.I don't mind Bevo but my biggest issue has always been that he doesn't seem to have a Plan B. It's evident his preperation for games is really good and we have a good game plan, but there's been so many games where teams have figured us out and we just can't stop momentum coming back the other way. I was very much Bevo out to start the year but I'm warming to the idea of keeping him, but I'd rather wait until later in the year before we put pen to paper.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

He also mentioned in a press conference recently that he thought there was a world where the Swans could win it last year and Horse still moves on. I'm thinking he wants to hang up the boots at the end of the year, hopefully on a high.....👍 1Comment

I didn't get that read at all and thought his comments were direct but balanced.
He mentioned key player contracts and resourcing/ retention around assistant coaches, and the sustainability of the position. Reckon both he and the club have a couple of hurdles to navigate before each are ready to sign. From the club's point of view, more continued solid form and an endorsement from Ed and Bont through long term deals, from his point of view certainty and resourcing sustainability in the football department (he's been a huge advocate for an increase in footy department spending).
He also mentioned that while it's all smiles and sunshine now, it can go south pretty quickly. I think everyone's being pragmatic about the situation without telling the media/ public what they need to see (which if they did, they'd just create more questions).
From a risk perspective both parties are in the right space. Beveridge would have to get a grandfather offer and go against his word to be elsewhere next year, the club gets to wait and see. Any well managed organisation would see this as the least pressured route as all they have to do is stick to a company line rather than justify any sort of decision.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.👍 4Comment

The other thing is that Bevo doesn't have a manager, so all the negotiations are done directly by him. I guess finding a time that suits all parties must also be a little difficult.

My guess is there's an offer there and he's wanting some movement on specifics. Maybe tenure if he's likely to get a five year offer elsewhere.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. The club has backed him through some tough days, now he's in a good position I would hope there's not too much game playing especially via the media.
Can't blame him though, he needs to look after his future and I dare say the Demons and Dockers would throw the kitchen sink at him.BT COME BACK!

The Western Bulldogs will ramp up contract talks with premiership coach Luke Beveridge within days after a positive meeting with club powerbrokers in the last fortnight.
Beveridge’s Dogs are flying as the No.1 attack in football, prompting the club to commit to discussions in the mid-season bye.
Dogs chief executive Ameet Bains earlier this year said the club had not ruled out an extension at some stage during the season.
The Western Bulldogs have a huge chance to push their top-four credentials on Thursday, pushing for a third-consecutive win in Geelong.
But, regardless, those talks between Beveridge and the club will kick off after that clash as the club heads into its round 12 bye.
Those talks might still take some time to be finalised but his regular meetings with Bains, president Kyle Watson-Wheeler and football director Luke Darcy mean the senior staff have been in constant discussion about the timeline for his future.
A recent discussion made clear the timeline for an actual contract for the 2016 premiership coach.
Beveridge told Fox Footy’s AFL360 on Monday night that discussions were imminent.
“You are talking about my tenure?,” Beveridge said.
“I know we have both been talking about stability and sustainability.
“We are morphing into this partnership again where we are looking at sustainability and thinking out of the (2023) Peter Jackson review how healthy are we off the field?
“And the club’s vision of what is ahead? I think we are in consent that we are on the right path. As far as formalising something goes it may not be too far away.”
Beveridge would expect a deal of at least two seasons – which would give him the stability to continue building for the future.
He has managed the list with new youngsters including Joel Freijah, Ryley Sanders, James O’Donnell and Rylee West who have all played key roles this year.
The club has senior veterans Adam Treloar and Liam Jones as tests after soft-tissue concerns, while Sam Darcy might only be weeks away from a return from a knee issue.
The brilliant young key tall could return a fortnight after the bye as he ramps up his running on grass in coming days after a knee concern.
He is listed as two to five weeks away after a bone concern to his knee that also had some medial ligament damage.

Great news. Let’s get it done. The only thing I would like added is that we add a Clause that we don’t go back and play Bevo Bingo on selection nightBB.
Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.😂 1Comment
