Future Priority Access Thread (Inc. Father/Son, Academy Players)

The new home for all things 'future priority access'. That includes Father/Son prospects and Next Generation Academy prospects.

Some woofers have wanted a name change for clarity to postings. So here it is merging the two. For me at least, dealing between the two old threads adds unnecessary work especially with info from another source, and is a disincentive to posting. This way simplifies everyone getting all the posted info and locates it in one aptly named thread.

To kick things off in the thread, a recap.

For this year Josh Kellett looks most likely to get a spot. But I wouldn't hold my breath with him not playing rep footy or invited to screenings, but he has performed OK in his senior year at the Western Jets.

As for Next Year at U/18 Level:

    Top Agers (2020 draft):

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (NGA) - Expected to go top 5 in the draft. Goal kicking, athletic, tall forward.
Ewan MacPherson - Was U/16 Vic Metro MVP last year as a ball winning mid. Played a lot of games as a bottom ager off the HBF this year. Known for his attack on the footy and good ball use.

Bottom Agers (Possibily getting games next year) (2021 Draft):

Sam Darcy - Already nearly as tall as his father in the ruck/forward mould. Needs to add a to his frame. Likely playing with JUH at Oakleigh. Made the U/16 Vic Metro trials this year.
Cooper West & Kobi West - a.k.a. 'The Twins'. Spoke to an opposition player and coach late last year. Both said The Twins play a lot more outside than Rhylee. They thought Rhylee was a superior player at that age. Just their thoughts for what it's worth. Kobi looks to have had a quiet year stat wise, Cooper a little bitter though. I assume they'll be linked with Calder too.
Kai Dimattina - Mid sized player whose played his juniors at St Kilda. Stats not strong. Not sure which U/18 team he might be fixed to.

(Other NGA candidates will become clearer as viable options worth tracking as we go along)

This weekend is the last H&A round in the NABL. Two good games with surnames that interest us.

Ugle-Hagan is lining up at CHF for Oakleigh vs Sandringham (3 vs 4).
Kellett & MacPherson playing against each other. Western Jets vs Northern Knights (6 vs 7).

I think you may even be able to stream the games via the NAB League app?

Cooper Craig-Peters is our NGA kid this year, he designed our 2018 indigenous jumper.
Defensive forward type by all accounts, we should grab him as a Cat B rookie.

We also have another promising type in 2020, Cody Raak. Bottom ager named in the bests 3 times for the Western Jets. Played KPP as a junior but has played midfield for the Jets, no idea of his height. Has been listed at both 183cm and 192cm depending where you look.

          Then there's a man child available 2021, Rench. 195cm and 90+ kgs as a 16 year old.

Forgot we have another NGA kid in 2020 - Nick Stevens. Some have tipped him to go in the top 20.

I've not seen Craig-Peters play, so I say that up front, but he played on ball with limited success for the first half of the year. Then as you say he played defensive forward with apparently less success, so now he's back playing on ball. I'm interested to know who instigated the change in role and then the change back.

Reading second hand reports, he's great inside but not good outside (yet). Like the Bulldogs he has played much better in the past few weeks.

JUH with 3 goals to half time. Also had a free at the top of the goal square but his teammate played on for the easiest of goals. Has also taken one big hanger. Good signs.

Ended up with 4 for the day in a nail biting win for Oakleigh. His 4th was a ridiculous Buddy-esque effort.

JUH has 17 goals in 6 games in the NABL (plus a heap of school footy goals). Averaging virtually 3 goals a game as a bottom ager...

As far as I can see, the last bottom age key forward to average virtually 3 goals a game (6+ games) in the TAC Cup was Tom Boyd in 2012.

Kicked 4 but should have been 6 as he had team mates take the advantage for easy goals where JUH had the free (one from a chase down holding the ball). He's going to be a real handful for defenders.
